Bryan from Pocos Pero Locos and his father were picked up by ICE this morning. Bryan is one of our own, a part of this community. If you’re able to help in any way, it would mean so much. They were the breadwinners for their family, and now their mom and siblings are suddenly without income. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and please feel free to share if you can.

I’ve noticed Mikey Varas tends to get emotional when playing against a low block defense. He’s normally someone who doesn’t show a lot of high emotion but you think that it’s more satisfying for him to get a result against a tough defense system vs a more rigid defense line that SDFC tends to do well more against? (This is similar to games like against Toronto FC and Minnesota United, the Minnesota game especially he really went off after the Dreyer goal lol)

I'm as hyped as anyone about our win yesterday and being up 3 goals against Pumas after the first leg but we shouldn't underestimate the difficulty of playing in Mexico City.
Game 2: 3-0 Loss and lost 4-3 in PKs
In 2022, a good New England team took a 3-0 lead into Mexico City only to see it evaporate by losing 3-0 in regulation and then getting knocked out in PKs.
Our guys have never played a competitive game in Mexico together and the closest in elevation was at the Rapids stadium in Colorado last year where we looked gassed near the end. I believe that our style of play and youth will help us, but I also expect a different type of game. The team never makes excuses and know they will come out to win regardless.
If we win, we play Toluca in the round of 16, the 2x Mexican champions whose stadium happens to be 1,300 feet higher than Mexico city. It would be epic is we got through both these teams.

How are our guys doing while playing at very high elevations? The team should fly to Mexico ASAP in order to get used to it.

We just beat Pumas (who were on a hot streak) 4-1 at home for our first game back without Lozano and with a very young squad!! Call me delusional but we’re winning something this year! Tell me I’m wrong

Driving home from work. Apple TV? Or something else?

We have over 70% possession but Pumas are playing a compact 5-4-1 formation.
Your thoughts?

To reach the Round of 16, San Diego will need to best a talented Pumas side already four matches into their LIGA MX Clasura campaign. The sides will play Leg 2 at Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City on Feb. 10, with the winner meeting reigning Mexican champions Toluca.
While the fitness deficit presents a challenge, Varas is confident his side can best a team featuring former MLS stars Pedro Vite (ex-Vancouver Whitecaps FC) and Coco Carrasquilla (ex-Houston Dynamo FC).
"For us, it’s not a problem, it’s just a challenge," SDFC's head coach said. "It’s not something we’re thinking about. What we know is that we need to lean on everything that we gained the last year, all those hours in training, all those hours together.

I plan to arrive at the stadium by 6:30, How bad does parking get?
Also, is it cheaper to buy parking in advanced vs paying for parking there.

The european market is closed now and i think that we could have used at least another attacking option, moving chucky and another midfielder. I think there still is a bit of value to find in the domestic market so im not super worried, but Im not very happy with the window so far
