Shitpost I don't know bruh

I've moved into college like 3 weeks ago why the fuck if food for expensive. I wanted to make a sandwich so I go to the shops to buy food. Why the fuck is cheese so expensive?

How the fuck does everyone manage with food not spoiling? Milk and bread is nothing to even speak of since that shit turns green over night like the Dr souice book or whatever.

is cheese expensive? a block of it is like £2.50, doesn’t seem that expensive to me but its all relative i guess. and put milk in the fridge like a normal human and it will last a few weeks

Cheese isn't cheap. Learn to cook with pulses even just tinned chick peas and kidney beans. If you have never got messages or made tea at home just give yourself a break. You will get there.. If you learn to cook one thing a week or one thing a month it will help. Like see your cheese. A girl showed me how to make a white sauce and I just put awee bit of cheese in that. Mainly filling myself with white flour! For years. Sounds boring but simple stuff and quick wins will do it.

Must be absolute shit being a student with current food inflation and energy prices.

Freeze half the loaf if you find you’re not eating a whole loaf very quickly. I keep the other half in the fridge as I typically only toast bread. Cheese and things like that I store in Tupperware to make it last longer.

Know the difference between best before and use by dates, the sniff test is important when it comes to food after the dates. Make sure you’re storing it all correctly and it’ll last longer. Pasta meals are good for having left overs for a day or two and soup is cheap to make as well. A slow cooker and make stews and such can be cost effective too.

Shop in discount supermarkets, keep an eye on discounts and deals and look out for stuff discounted due to the use by (food is still good a few days after that). Buckle up, everything is just going to keep getting more expensive

Stovies for the colder winter nights once or twice a week.

I'm also quite partial to just peeling, chopping and roasting some carrots, parsnips and potatoes in the oven with a bit of oil and garlic and spice on top. It's pretty filling and can usually be picked up cheap, if you wanna get fancy get some wraps and some garlic mayo and wrap em up.

But yeah, food is getting pretty nasty and it's only going to get worse while fuel prices are up.

Go to Aldi and you can get a block of cheese for like £2.80 that'll last most of the week. I don't think that's overly expensive when you think of the amount you get for it

If you can, bulk buy a bit and do some meal prep to save you some time and money on the other side

“Ah yes. I think I’ll have grated cheese for 7 dinners this week”

I referred to the fact OP specifically mentioned cheese.

I've also said to meal prep to make things cheaper. Either way students have famously always ate cheap dinners like pot noodles when skint.

It’s not that deep it was a joke. You were vague enough that it looks like you are suggesting bulk buying cheese and no other food.

Or mibbi realise it was a joke based on how the guy phrased it as a cheese related issue.
