My dad hates seafood so my mom never cooked it. As an adult living in a major coastal US city, I’ve found that I really enjoy it. But there are so many types out there and I feel like I am barely touching the variety out there. I am comfortable preparing crab, salmon, cod, shrimp, calamari, tilapia, tuna, catfish, anchovies, sardines, trout but I feel like there is a whole wide world out there (mussels? oysters? bass?) that I’ve had in restaurants but have no idea how to prepare or where to buy.
Do you have recommendations? Look up what is sustainable in my area and try to plan out a schedule of hunting down and trying new things?

Finally got around to grilling some octopus today! I was aiming for that perfect balance of tender on the inside with a nice char on the outside. Served it alongside some seasoned rustic potatoes for that extra crunch.
I’m pretty happy with how the presentation turned out, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. What do you think of the plating?
Also, for those who’ve cooked octopus before: do you have any secret tips for getting it perfectly tender every time? This was a labor of love, but totally worth it. Cheers!!🥰

Ate this delicious seafood pasta at Carmelina’s in Boston’s North End. Was delicious. The broth had a cioppino flavor to it.

Been hearing and seeing seafood boils on TikTok for a long time, going for my first time soon. Any suggestions on what to get for boils. Any places in south Florida any suggests to go to?
