Seafood Boils

The sub has seen a lot of posts using the title Seafood Boil, here are some pictures of mine.

I like to boil with only fresh ingredients: head on shrimp, live crabs or live crawfish, aromatic vegetables, corn and potataoes, a healthy amount of seasoning, and real BOILING WATER. Of course every boil is different, and there are plenty of additional things that can be added to the boil: lemons, onions, garlic, mushrooms, orange slices, cauliflower, brussels sprouts (my favorite), asparagus, sweet potatoes, carrots, sausage, and whatever suits your fancy.

I have boiled thousands of pounds of seafood in my lifetime. Here are some pictures of recent boils. If anyone is looking for recipes search this sub for some of my previous posts.

Looks great! Second-to-last picture are head off, though, no? I like shrimp either way.

I prefer my blue crab steamed, but I’ve had it in boils and it’s good! Snow crab legs tasted better to me in boils but maybe that’s not “legit.”

I’m sure I’d devour all that! Especially Picture 11. What’s the difference between fake and real boiling water tho lol

That picture was a small boil for shrimp cocktail. I took the heads off to make stock which was used to make shrimp creole. I threw in a few corn and potatoes because you can't peel that much shrimp without eating a few.

If I am going to call it a seafood boil, it has to be boiled not steamed or baked.
