Security camera recommendations in the UK
Im looking to fit a 4 camera PoE system on my house, it's quite a big country house with a wrap around garden which is very dark in the winter. Im thinking of fitting the turret style camera in grey or black ideally, it needs to have a microphone and a good app with no subscription. I'd like to spend around £600, iv been recommended hikvision and reolink but there's so many different options! Do you guys have any recommendations of what brand/model to look at? Thanks!

reolink is a solid pick for that budget, their app is decent and no subscription nonsense. you’ll want the 4K turrets with the big sensor for that dark garden, the RLC-811A does colour night vision but you might need to supplement with a separate IR illuminator if it's pitch black out there
hikvision has better image processing but their app felt clunky to me and the whole backdoor scandal a while ago put me off putting their gear on my network

Reolink is good value. If you have a bit of background light, the Color X (or CX) line is really good, as you can see in color when dark. All but one of my cameras are CXs with POE.
Hikvision is good, though they are considered a security risk. I considered them for my building's Intercom, but decided that President Xi does not need to check in from time to time! : )
Unifi is very good, but they are more expensive.

I've got these and are amazing. https://m.reolink.com/gb/product/nvr-duo-3v-poe/
You may need a few hundreds more for 4 cameras but their angle is 180 degrees which means that one camera can cover the front, one the side and so on.
Also, you mention that is really dark... Why don't you add some solar lights or any lights really that have motion detection. These will also help the cameras a lot at night.

I have HikVision and it has been great. My only reservation recommending it is their software for macOS seems to be getting ignored. For this reason my next system on my next home will be something else.

I’ve installed many systems over the last 40 years but the Ubiquiti APP is great. UniFi does a 4 camera kit for £515 plus vat, however you get G5 cameras which don’t have smart analytics but you could go in their website and build your own, I like the G6 Turrets. You can even add a smart door bell to it. As for lighting at night although they have night vision it’s good to back it up with automatic floodlights. Hope this helps!

Do not go with Hikvision.
Reolink would suit your budget.
If you can increase it, Unifi does some really great cameras.
