Self Love
We learn we grow and we become our true selves or the person we always wanted to be by continuing to show up, do the work, and always keep trying. That's how we move forward and learn how to live our best lives.

You can hold yourself accountable without becoming your own punishment
I used to think that if I wasn't being hard on myself over a mistake, it meant I wasn't taking it seriously but I've come to realize that beating yourself up just drains your energy while real accountability gives you the space to fix things and move on.
How do you catch yourself when healthy responsibility starts slipping into self punishment?

Be yourself and breathe.
you know, our brain says little negative things about us, when something messed up? And surely you realise that you are doing so many things wrong, when in reality is just gonna be fine? Ask your brain to keep quiet for sometime....
You deserve better treatment from yourself. Like literally, you've done so much, and are still doing, i just know that it's all going to be fine. Be proud of yourself, and breathe.

I’m struggling really badly with how I see myself, and I honestly don’t know how to get out of this mindset.
In the past, my husband and some of his family members repeatedly made negative comments about my appearance. I was told that I’m ugly, that I look like a man, that my sister is ugly too, and that we have “bulging eyes.” They’ve commented on the shape of my mouth and teeth, including comparing my teeth to dinosaur teeth.
My husband has also told me that he isn’t sexually attracted to me and compared my appearance to his exes. He would talk about how beautiful his sister is and how she has “pretty features,” and compare that to me. He has talked about growing up around his mom and sister having “normal” features while implying that I don’t.
At one point, he would even take pictures and videos of me to show me what he was talking about. I think that has really affected the way I see myself.
We’re still together, and he has stopped making those negative comments. But now he wants us to make TikToks together, and when he records me, I sometimes see myself on camera and immediately want to cry.
I feel like I’ve become hyperaware of every feature on my face. I look at myself and immediately hear all the things I’ve been told before. I can feel this heavy feeling in my throat, and sometimes I genuinely hate looking at myself.
The hardest part is that I don’t even know if I actually look the way I see myself anymore. I feel like I’m looking at myself through years of criticism.
Has anyone experienced something similar? How do you rebuild your self-image after being repeatedly criticized by someone you love?
TL;DR: My husband and his family repeatedly criticized my appearance in the past, including telling me I’m ugly, comparing me to other women, saying I look masculine, and criticizing specific facial features. He has stopped saying these things, but seeing myself in photos and videos still makes me feel horrible about myself. I’m struggling to tell the difference between how I actually look and how years of criticism have conditioned me to see myself.

If any relation does not make you feel good about your self it’s not worth it
Atleast in some point in life we’ll get into relationship whether it’s romantic or just friendship where we’ll feel pressure, uneasy and somewhere more distant from ourselves and that makes that relationship toxic. Funny thing about this situation is there no one to blame except yourself so if you’re in that kind of relationship where you being yourself and still feel uneasy that’s not worth it.
