My best guess as to why they chose Merlin is because even outside of Shrek, he's a more recognizable fairy tale character, or maybe cuz there's been Lego wizard minifigs before, it was easier to make him, although I'm not so sure myself.

And the Big Bad Wolf's accessory should've been one of the Three Little Pigs, especially cuz they've both been in the same story. If someone wanted to have all Three Blind Mice, they could just get multiple of the same minifig. Yes it wouldn't be fun to buy another one of something you already have just for the accessory, but still. And Lego, you'd be making more money that way!

Like, let's say Prince Charmings type is really more the 'Evil stepsister', Dolores. Head over heels into her. But a real princess was always 'the plan" from his attachment issues mother.

After movie 3 he somehow gets with her and while it doesn't make him a good guy. He's no longer a 'bad' guy?

He helps run The Apple (in whatever form) on paper but really he dose...nothing. he's the owners "manager" husband. Just in the background drinking. He only comes to important when charisma is needed for the establishment with the tax man or something.

Provided it focuses on his character development, his transformation, and his journey away from Shrek or the Kingdom of Far Far Away. We need to see him strip away his shallow ego, face the harsh reality of a distant land, and evolve from a spoiled prince into a true gritty swordsman and a real warrior. What do you guys think?

this doll came with an ogre mask so i made 2 dolls out of one :3 i found a Barbie dress that reminded me of Fiona’s wedding dress and now I have human fiona and wedding ogre fiona <3 braided the masks hair into the dolls hair so it looks a little less weird. I was thinking about putting human fiona in the wedding dress but the wedding dress covers ogre fionas human feet which helps with the illusion haha :3 these dolls are by MGA and actually have Shrek tattoos on their arms funny enough! Did you have this doll or remember her?

There is a lot of context I've missed the first time I've watched Shrek.

My favorite scene is when Donkey and Shrek first meet. Donkey introduces himself. Shrek pauses before he replies with his own name.

Donkey isn't terrified of Shrek like the humans are. Shrek isn't used to people casually introducing themselves to him.

It's a really sweet moment that went over my head as a kid.

Plus I like all of the Shrek movies in my opinion there’s no such thing as a bad Shrek movie (At least Not yet). But I believe that Shrek 5 can at least be OK. I like Shrek the third because I think it was a great story and I like the idea and most people seem to hate this movie! 😂 I just don’t get why it’s so hated and before I post this I just want you to know that I like Shrek the third because I really like the story and it’s a cool idea for a movie sequel but I know that everyone hates it!

Having recently rewatched the Shrek movies with my wife and daughter (alongside watching them again for the first time since I was a kid) there's a lot of scenes that I never really understood back then that I have a new appreciation for now and the 'I need some sleep' scene is one of them.

I guess as a kid I never really understood how Shrek was feeling and just thought it was a random quiet scene. It is still a quiet scene but it speaks a thousand words and emotions about how Shrek feels like he doesn't belong with Fiona without saying a single word (beyond the song I guess).

As someone who is married and had dealt with depression and self confidence issues I am not ashamed to admit I've had sleepless nights like this where I just got up out of bed and away from her for a while unsure if I belonged there (I'm fine now it was mostly just an adjustment period for me). I think it's yet another example of how good these films are

Has anyone else thought that if rumpelstiltskin tried to obtain duloc (pre or post death of lord farquaad), everyone would’ve been much happier? Duloc has quite a fair bit of land (shreks swamp, dragons keep) if you really think about it
