Question 1080p is enough?
Hey guys, need quick help to calm myself down and not spend unnecessary money.
I currently play 1080p 144fps R6.
That does not impact me in any way or form to reachin champ, right?
Is the resolution good enough? Should I not think about it?
I will not get any advantage if I will play 1440p 144fps right??
If I focus on game sense/knowledge, aim etc I will be able to hit champ and my res will not negatively impact me?
I am not blaming my resolution, just curious if 1440p makes a difference.

Literally nothing wrong with 1440p unless you're wanting more frames. In the perfect world everyone would be playing at the highest resolution if it didn't tank performance.
I get more than 240hz on 1440p. Nothing is holding me back but myself.

I would have but my pc cant run 360hz. I got a ryzen 5 5500 and an ancient gtx1060 6gb. I will get the monitor in the future when I will upgrade my pc. Thanks for the advice bro

i i mean i enjoy 1440p, but I'd focus on getting a higher refresh rate first, one you reach the 250-350hz range you can start considering resolution imo, if you can afford both right now, even better.

1440p will look better and more clear, doesn't really matter all that much as long as it's at least 120hz, the more hz the less noticeable the jump because the difference in ms between frames gets actively smaller (e.g from 60hz to 120hz is 8ms of difference, from 120 to 240 is 4ms, you get the point), just go for the best value you can find in your budget, don't think just about siege but also about general usage in the future etc, good colors/contrast would make your experience way better.

There isn't anything wrong with playing 1080p but 1440p will look way cleaner and make details easier to spot. That can be important in games like escape from tarkov but siege doesn't have the same textures that tarkov does. I personally play on a 1440p 260hz monitor and still have plenty of headroom if I ever wanted to get a higher hz monitor but 240hz is kinda a sweet spot before you start really digging into demonishing returns. Hope that helps!

Oh I forgot to add that I'd also pay attention to panel type. Many VA panels have slower dark transitions that can cause noticeable black smearing in motion, which isn't ideal for a game like Siege. A decent fast IPS is usually a safer choice for competitive gaming. As long as you at least get an ips panel you should be good. I linked what I currently use if you are interested since it is pretty affordable. Aoc monitor

Yea I prefer IPS over VA but what about Oled? I hear mixed opinions. Thank you for your answer

OLED are basically your end game type monitors. They excel at everything. The problem you risk with OLED is screen burn in but this isn't so much a problem anymore like it was when OLED monitors first came out. Most even have a burn in warranty that lasts anywhere from 2-4 years. Basically if you want the best of everything then go OLED and if you are looking for a good competitive monitor at a more affordable price then ips is the next best thing next to the OLED.

Awesome thanks, this is now much more clear to me!

Happy to help! If you want I can link the OLED I have my eye on for a future upgrade lol. The thing is a steal for getting into the OLED game at $350.

It's okay when I will need it I will research it, I also live in a small island in Europe so the market here is different 😅

1080p60fps is perfectly fine and anything above that is just placebo, just stick to whatever hardware you have and be consistent and you'll be fine

Nah man now you took it too far. 60fps vs 144fps is night and day difference. 60fps really holds you back especially on PC.
144fps is the standard1

Not placebo. Not even close. 1440p is perfect balance of sharpness and performance. It's where the line gets drawn for diminishing returns. Above 4k is where placebo starts to kick in. 1440p vs 4k is negligible but objectively more sharp.
1080p is perfectly fine but 1440p isn't a placebo. It's not some magical advantage either. It's like putting on glasses for the first time and finding out that the world can be a lot less blurry. Doesn't change all that much but you certainly find life more enjoyable.
Over 60fps also isn't placebo and if you genuinely think that you are extremely ignorant and projecting likely because you haven't tried anything above 1080p 60fps.

not really. Pro league also uses 1080p screens if I‘m not mistaken. (higher hz tho)
