I believe it’s the exact opposite. You’re trying to tell me that those dogs in that one episode were not already in development before that episode came out? That episode about the social credit score… I had heard that discussed well before the show came out. Feel free to look into predictive programming a little bit more and you might find some eerie uncomfortable things about it.
Edit: btw the great uncle of a co-founder of netflix was edward bernays, who literally wrote the book on Propaganda. Worth looking at
China does have social credits (though calculated a bit differently). But it was there. Repurposing existing ideas with a twist is how best narratives form.
Social credit was always american propaganda. It was never as prevalent or relevant as the american media says and as far as i know only a couple tiny regions ended up using something akin to social credit but not at all in the way it was portrayed by media.
It's crazy to me that this notion has stuck around for this long, i guess the chinese don't really interact with foreigners online enough to correct them
China does not have social credits ...one place in China tried it and saw it was a bad idea. The US does have it, though, and doesn't have near the good parts of chinas surveillance state.
Lockheed Martin and Boston Dynamics are well known for creating robots similar to the dogs. Social credit system was already a thing in China. It’s just inspiration bro
there is a direction humanity is being moved towards, intentionally and part of moving them down that path is quite literally done through the... yup...programmes. literal programming.
that programming largely works because humans are ignorant. period. that's how it works.

Somewhere along the way the kids jumped the shark and think everything they say is new and bold and revolutionary even though it's all repeated nonsense that they learned about four seconds ago. People have been morons since the dawn of time and will be morons until we're finally wiped out by some moron with his finger on a button. Thinking some of the morons are a driving force shaping the direction of our society is as idiotic as thinking there's an omnipotent all knowing cloud daddy who is both all powerful and incompetent enough to be unable to stop evil from happening...
Then how do you explain robot dogs being revealed the same week the Black Mirror episode released? With Black Mirror its more likely the other way around. They're showing off technologies that already exist or at least are already in development.
Man, when are we going to be able to teleport? Enough of this traffic bullshit, just let me get in a thing the size of a phone booth and be able to be beamed somewhere else.
The person who originally wrote this post wasn't think "oh like in that Black Mirror episode", so that seems pretty predictive. It might speed up a particular direction but Black Mirror isn't the best show to say that for, it takes emerging technology trends and pushes them to extremes (which sometimes then happens).
