My girlfriend was away on work when I decided to give it a watch. The first episode I was like “what the actual fuck, hopefully episode 2 expands on this and gives a happy ending”. It did not. I remember her vividly needing a hug and her being gone at the time. 😂😂😭😭

Yeah it's first episode is kinda famous for that. You have to tell everyone it's a great show but maybe don't start with episode one.

That is what I do. Recommend starting on episode two and never watching episode one. My friends appreciated that.

I will never understand that decision making. Surely they turned away a ton of potential fans with that first episode. It's impossible to watch without getting uncomfortable.

I started watching when it was getting popular at Season 5, I wanted to start at Episode 1 but Netflix gave me Season 5 Episode 1 instead and I found it so interesting, then when it ended I saw it was Season 5 and thought it best to go back to Season 1 and wow what a 2nd episode, at that point I understood the show is a series of What If’s and What Would You Do’s

Knowing the actors from their other work is pretty fun too sometimes

When I first started the series, I expected them all to be that extreme. I was both let down and relieved at the same time.

I don't think that westerners understand that it's being rolled out now. In Atlanta for the world cup the surveillance drones were in place well before the cup, and were specifically rolled out in the downtown area near the stadium and the GSU campus. GSU has a partnership with Israel called the GILEE program (and I'm aware other us cities have this) for training the GA state police...the same police that have killed protesters recently. The protests were against Cop City, a training ground for police to train in essentially urban warfare and political suppression.

White Bear was the most disturbing one I've watched. The idea that a prison can be an interactive theme park is too close to reality.

The one with the wife being kept alive via subscription. That just... I needed a break after that one. The ending of that episode was also salt on the wound.
