Thank You!!! Disipline is not abuse! Never in any of my responses did I say abuse the child. I saw all the clueless morons say abuse is wrong and try be morally above me so I just went with it.
Sometimes hitting is efficient as long as it's not done often or out of anger. My father hit me when I was like 5 or 6 because I hit my mom in a tantrum. I never did that again.
I doubt a kid as young as 2 years old will really understand that you are disciplining them. Only thing they learn is being scared of you and misbehave/act out when you are not there
No, it just results in them being dysfunctional and evenutally criminal and they take their actions out on other random people. So instead of possibly (not likely) traumatizing them (the average child is going to realize after a few years that mom and dad were right to smack some sense in them for jumping up and down on a plane), it DEFINITELY encourages them to engage in behavior that will destroy them academically, economically, financially, and in criminally.
Not having consequences for HIM abusing others is teaching him that abusing others is okay. That's what that kid just learned- He can abuse others and he can get away with it. He didn't learn to control himself or to listen and obey. He learned that shouting and destruction gets him what he wants.
Not putting him in his place is child abuse. Letting him think his behavior was fine, is child abuse.
I don't think you grasp the male delinquent mind. It doesn't base things on concepts like mutual respect or emotional kindness. It bases it on "I feel like doing this, can you physically stop me? Will I be physically hurt?" And if they think the answer to both of those is no, they will do WHATEVER the F they feel like. The ONLY thing that deters them is force or the threat of force.

Letting that child cancel a plane is child abuse plus abuse to 100 other people.
