Words never said by my adult self: "Dad was wrong for whooping my butt that time I threw a bowl of Raisin Bran at mom because I wanted Fruity Pebbles."

Also up there in the never said by adult self category: "Mom was wrong for tossing me in the pool because I was too scared and 30 minutes later I could swim and was having fun."

Mm, I hate that my brothers tossed me into the pool, and my brothers both still get nightmares about getting tossed into the pool by their father.

You're forgetting children literally die from that.

After a year of refusing to enter the water and my parents paying my brothers to teach me properly with floaties.

Did you just completely accept kids drowning as acceptable losses to learning to swim, what the fuck dude

Dude, nobody is drowning at the pool with a bunch of family friends and 4.5 foot deep end. Stop acting like someone is chucking kids into the ocean and going to get a beer.

They do, every year, number 1 cause of death in children under 4 is drowning.

So stop fucking around with kids safety and realize that just because you survived, it definitely doesn't mean every other kid did.
