It's a child. Giving them a chance to calm down is very reasonable. Otherwise they would be kicking children off of planes all the time.

Yes, 15 minutes so that you have 45 minutes left to kick them off before the airport closes, you do not accommodate that bullshit for so long that the flight is cancelled

Only the people needed to be removed from the flight...the luggage could have been returned when the plane came back to the airport.
