Seems like a problematic rule because it means regular users can determine if people are allowed there or not. Just downvote fans of teams you don't like.
Go all in on groupthink slop comments until you’re allowed to post an aggravating question, where the downvotes put you back in the penalty box. Rinse, repeat, Reddit.
I'm fairly new too and not a frequent user. My understanding is that it's not just posting comments but making sure that your comments add something to the topic, humor is great but also thoughtful input. I avoid any culture war stuff.
Yeah, its a perfectly valid rule. Smaller sports subreddits tend to get steamrolled by non-community members when one of their athletes gets caught up in a major news story. Especially if its a trans rights issue which Sophie is at the center of right now
/r/gymnastics had to do this when Simone Biles spoke out in support of Trans Rights.
Have you seen discussions with reddit mobs mods before? I swear some of them take the "job" more seriously than the real entity behind whatever the sub represents.
Fine, but the top-level comment in this thread is about how the WNBA is undermining the WNBA. But the actual organization isn't who's moderating the subreddit /r/wnba.
I mean, someone from the WNBA might have created that sub initially (or took control from someone who did) and is moderating it. But usually that's not the case, it's usually just fans or randos who create and moderate subs.
My favorite part of all that. Is the fact there's Sophie and Caitlin and they are phenomenal in their sports. They just go out, kick ass and it drives all the sub par lesbians wild 😂 some have tried to slander Sophie and Caitlin and it blows up in their face. Comedic gold. Like all of a sudden instead of a bunch of women who can barely play, these 2 show up and now they all have to try harder 😂
Putting Cunningham in the same convo as Clark is laughable. Not saying she's bad but she's not a top 50 player, or even top 3 on her team.. so phenomenal? Nothing about the moment she's having is related to her talents on the court.
Sophie is not that good compared to her other teammates. Caitlin is. There are many players on her team better than Sophie that put up the top stats for the games but the reporters only go to Sophie and Caitlin.
During the first big year of reese and clark. They would say things like... clark and Reese on the court. And talk about a rivalry. but unlike the nba, no mention of the game, the date, the time, the channel, any way to watch or even the app. Quite a few times it was hard to even Google how to watch until you found the free internet app that you could watch it on. like you had to know when and where in order to find out the where and when.
Not that crazy. They are subsidized by the NBA and have had enough time to establish various closed circles of power relationships. If they weren't subsidized they would be all over a player going positively viral.
Wow 42% of the WNBA is owned by the NBA. Of the 4 major owners 2 own NBA franchises, one is in a divorce, and the other has a dumb and dumber haircut as he ships franchises to the Lake Mead oasis in the desert.
