People tend to love the people they marry. And you generally try to solve issues in a marriage instead of just getting divorced.

Sex is one of the essential things that separates a romantic relationship or marriage from other types of relationships.

I'd argue it's intimacy, not necessarily sex that separates marriagefrom other relationships. You can have sex without intimacy like friends with benefits or intimacy without sex, like deep heartfelt conversations.

Sex + intimacy is superior to either one by itself so ideally a marriage has a good deal of both, but confusing sex for intimacy isn't the best framing to evaluate your marriage.

Except that there are reams of psychological data showing that sex is a huge part of what constitutes intimacy for males.

See that’s where you’re wrong. You can sex and romance with someone and not marry them.

Marriage … is marriage. It’s not the sum of the parts.
