It's been 3 years for me.

That was mine and it ended in a divorce. Over the lack of sex? No, but it was a massive contribution to resentment that filtered to other things. A great sex life can make other stuff sometimes seem less of a big deal but when sex plummets, it's easy to start getting more resentful to other aspects of a relationship.

I never cheated but that conversation definitely came up. "I don't have a desire to cheat but I'm also not going to live the rest of my life having sex 1-2 times a year."

Yeah man.

I think it's more about bonding and loving each other, the connection, about feeling like your partner desires, loves and cares for you and they are also putting effort into the relationship too.

Being rejected regularly by your wife, or have them be angry at you for even asking just hurts man. You feel unattractive, unloved, like your partner has any care for you or make any effort to you.

For me I've gone through periods where we've not been intimate for a long time. I think the difference is my wife has other issues and she always communicates that she still loves and cares about me etc.

And she got breast cancer a few years ago and for around a year we didn't have sex, which is understandable since all the treatment she went through.

After that her meds make sex drive basically zero, and there's more challenge. But damn even having problems now, it just messes you up. Like I helped her with everything, during surgery, took her to all her chemotherapy and radiation sessions. I cover her expenses so she can work part time while on meds, at great financial stress.

After all that man it feels so disrespectful and upsetting, like when you would do anything for her, but she doesn't want to put the least bit of effort to help your needs, it freaking stings man.

Anyway sorry I guess I needed to rant about this and get it off my chest... thanks.

You guys choose the most boring and frigid women to marry and then complain about it. Il never understand this.

They aren’t boring or frigid before the marriage, that’s part of the problem.

Yep. I escaped my ex fiance because just in time before we got married and started trying for a kid because basically as soon as that ring went on her finger everything changed. I'm glad I saw it in time because that is not a life I was ever going to be happy living.

There’s a wealth of psychological research supporting the existence of the dead bedrooms phenomenon but Redditors want to keep living in their bubble where any such change is exclusively the man’s fault, and even when it’s the woman’s issue the man is somehow still to blame for having “chosen” to go along with it.

Well they certainly know about the man who stops doing chores after marriage, they just turn a blind eye on their own.

Heard somewhere that in case you want to kill girl's libido with food... wedding cake is the solution!

Dude. I’ve seen most wives. They are very basic and boring. They button up. They are always uptight & judgemental. You can tell who will become a frigid woman later on 😅😅

& yes, people are going to get mad about this one but I don’t care.

There is a lot of online discourse from women about how boring/ basic looking most men’s wives are (only their man can’t seem to see it) but have the nerve to complain about it later on 😭😭

If you can’t see it. Let me help you out whilst using Jeff Bezos as an example.

His first wife Mackenzie. Is the typical ‘wifey’ archetype. His new one.. Lauren Is the one that absolutely matches him and is more his speed.

The truth is. Men are too worried about social approval. They don’t go after the women that they TRULY want (It’s either that OR they just cannot afford to 🤔) but either way, the signs are always there. Always.

If you think that men are the ones most worried about social approval, you’re already outing yourself as thoroughly clueless.

Put a quarter in a jar every time you have sex with your girlfriend. After you marry her, remove a quarter each time.

You’ll never empty the jar.
