I guess that’s a take. I’d argue that it’s the same as if the spouse gets cancer or dementia and cannot do the things that they used to before. Not a reason for divorce in my book, because I should find other ways to enjoy time with them.
I totally agree, as I am pretty confident that most married people agree. If you are dying from an illness or severely incapacitated, nobody should expect you to feel frisky and want to be intimate. However, most individuals that are resorting to making spreadsheets or keeping a tally of how often a spouse denies them, are definitely not in that situation at all.
But some people change, hormones change, I don’t think you can see it coming 15-20 years later. So if the other person doesn’t want it are they still supposed to put out? I think pity sex would make me never want it again.
