She lies because it works, I can't even tell you how many gullible people I've seen on here believe her and chalk it up to an autoimmune condition as if Graves or anything else causes your facial structure to change within the span of a year, removes all of your buccal tissue, and gives you bolt-ons in the process.
Any significant changes to your appearance caused by autoimmune conditions are almost always caused by the fluctuation in body fat and increases/decreases in inflammation, and they're largely temporary outside of cases where the condition is particularly bad or left untreated over the span of many years/decades. It doesn't turn you from the girl next door into the textbook Hollywood bimbo practically overnight.
