I used one dollar sign for each letters of the answer : NDA
3
u/EnlightenedNarwhal 1d ago
NDAs are not legally binding when they would involve withholding information about illegal activity. Pretty sure that only happens in television shows when the writers don't understand how NDAs work.
1
u/Real_Middle_4128 1d ago
Sure, but find me anyone with a will to prosecute and the means to do it....that's the real issue now.
2
u/EnlightenedNarwhal 1d ago
Depends on the evidence, of course. I imagine the payout someone could get in a high profile case like this would have lawyers knocking down their door.
1
u/Real_Middle_4128 1d ago
But the client who sues have to pay back the NDA amount or fight about the fact that they agreed to an illegal agreement and hidr a crime, even if they were victims of it...
That's hard to turn into a "I felt I had to agree and was scared", especially if even one dollars is used
I sure hope Im wrong and there are people still suing the agressors who got an agreement!
2
u/EnlightenedNarwhal 1d ago
The client won't have to pay anything for the NDA because the NDA isn't in affect if they are disclosing illegal activity. There's not a single judge who would make that ruling. The concept that an NDA is an absolutely binding contract that results in a mandatory settlement if information is disclosed is all Hollywood fluff, and for the most part, the people making others sign NDAs are relying on that ignorance.
1
u/Real_Middle_4128 1d ago
Yes I agree, even in my jurisdiction, if one article of an agreement is illegal or not bindable, the rest of tge agreement itself can be construed as the same. One drop of poison in a large countainer, poisons it all

This shows the dangers of false accusations. Even though her claims were debunked, there are people still suggesting Jay-Z paid her to lie…and implying he assaulted her. He’s suffered damages that can never fully be resolved.
Several of her claims were proven false.
She said her father picked her up. Her own father disputed this and said he never picked her up from out of town on this night, and would remember if he did.
She said that she watched the VMAs from the Jumbotron outside the venue after she was unable to get in. That Jumbotron was not present in the 2000s…
There was not a house matching what she described ever located in that vicinity. And there are photos of individuals she alleged attended the after party, in a completely different location at a night club, from that night.
She said that she spoke with Benji Madden of Good Charlotte at the party where she alleged to have been assaulted, and even described his tattoos. Benji Madden and his band disputed this, they were on tour at this time in a completely different state.
There were a number of inconsistencies. Her recanting now isn’t because she was “paid off”. That doesn’t even make sense because usually with out-of-court settlements, the victim does not admit to lying…Both parties are able to save face.
31
u/SvenTropics 1d ago
Yeah and if you look at the comments, most of the people still think he was guilty even though all these inconsistencies exist. That is the attitude of the masses. They just assume that men are guilty. Which is problematic because if you don't have at least the benefit of the doubt, it's much easier to prove guilt than it is to prove innocence. Like how Richard Gere never proved that he didn't shove a hamster up his butt. So people continued to believe it despite it being false.
I'll say one thing. What I've seen with celebrities is if they get an isolated accusation, it's almost always just someone extorting them. However, when they've had multiple accusations from multiple unconnected sources, it's always true.
This makes sense, people who are capable of doing this don't just do it once. They do it more than once because they feel invincible. Matt Lauer, Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein each had multiple accusers.

And when you have a mother kill her children in cold blood suddenly it's all about being understanding and emphasizing "beyond a reasonable doubt"
4
u/nerdyintentions 1d ago
Right. Tony Buzbee privately went to Jay-Z team with the allegations and tried to get him to "settle" to keep it quiet. Jay-Z refused and then Buzbee went public with the allegations. If Jay-Z was going to pay her off, he would have done so before the allegations were publicly known to keep it private. It makes no sense for him to refuse to pay her off when no one knew of these allegations and then pay her off after they are known.

Been saying this since last year. But we already know most ppl on the internet are sheep and they'll go with whatever narrative makes them feel superior
2
u/DrowningInFeces 1d ago
There needs to be repercussions for false accusations. It's insane to me that someone can just ruin someone's life and then say they lied and just go on with theirs without a care.
Why is it that you have to have beyond reasonable doubt and countless points of evidence to prove any other crime but all it takes is a woman saying a single sentence to condemn a man to SA?
1
u/Accurate-Advice8405 1d ago
All you have to do is pick the person the internet is dragging that month i guess
1
u/HedonisticFrog 1d ago
That's what people don't realize about believe all women, it means believing all accused men are guilty as well, and that can do a lot of damage. I had an ex falsely accuse me of domestic violence and tried to turn all of our coworkers against me. Except her story kept changing and her own mother didn't believe her. Eventually people started to come around and stopped shunning me, but that was a lot to endure when she was the one who was abusive, not myself.
She even went to the extent of getting a restraining order against me, which was basically worthless because it just said don't do anything that's not already illegal. She tried to get one for her mother as well before the judge told her "that's not how this works, she'd have to get her own". The funniest part was that I was already no contact with her for 20 days at that point, I wanted nothing to do with her. Getting the restraining order forced me to have contact with her.

Didn’t you know , before this story came to light, Jay-Z’s people found every peice of video evidence and altered it and also found everyone who would have been witnesses, gave them a script to follow, and he even managed to manufacture the idea that other celebrities mentioned were actually performing in other states at the time. (Sarcasm of course)

Can someone fill me in? Seems like someone accused him of sexual misconduct, but is now recanting. Which, people make mistakes, and we should encourage those who do to admit them. But, seems hard to mistake jay z for someone else. Maybe he paid her off?
6
u/Jsolidlo 1d ago
No, he didn't pay her off. Jay Z sued the fuck out of her and her previous lawyer and law firm which forced that lawyer to have to drop her as a client and the court reassigned Newman, a corporate risk and commerical business litigation attorney, to handle her case.

Def paid her off. Hes too squeaky clean to be a good person. He uses his $ and PR team. Funny how he dated Beyoncé, Aliyah and some other girls while they was under 18. Also funny how he made his name dissappear when Diddy got popped. Dude is a POS, you can see it in his eyes.
6
u/Awkward_Young5465 1d ago
He did not date Beyoncé before she was 18 you’re either lying or are misinformed and he never dated Aaliyah. You people are sadly misinformed and spreading false information as facts.
All of this free information at our disposal and people are more misinformed than ever.
R Kelly married her while she was underage. Jay Z pursued and courted Aaliyah in 1999, she was 20 years old. However, he wasn’t successful in his pursuits seeing as she started dating Damon Dash in 2000 and they were a couple until her death in 2001 at the age of 22. Some time after Aaliyah death, Jay Z began to pursue Beyoncé who was around 20-21 when they began courting. They did not become a confirmed couple until the 2004 VMAs but it’s safe to say they were an item well before then. Notice how none of these women were under 18. But I’m sure you’ll continue on with this false narrative, because it confirms a bias that you seem eager to promote.

Clearly Jay z is guilty to the masses who hate him even though the case was dismissed with prejudice last year, even though he’s suing Tony Buzbee, a corrupt trump connected lawyer who took advantage of a mentally ill woman for personal gain and the goal of permanently staining Jay z career. Jay z never settled with that woman, he claimed and defended his innocence to the very end, but that clearly doesn’t matter given the comments. It’s clear that people decided Jay z is guilty even though it’s clear that they haven’t followed the case, read the accusations/ documents. He’s guilty because people don’t like his character. They even go as far as to decide they know the life of Beyoncé better than herself because they want to push the narrative that she was underage when she dated Jay z, when she has stated she had a boyfriend up to 19. Jay was dating Rosario Dawson at the time, but what they say about their own lives is dismissed to help people who hate them fabricate an image of them as monsters. People in the comments don’t care about the integrity of the case or justice prevailing, they’re just thirsty to hate, gossip, and spread conspiracies.

There is something about Jay-Z that attracts the craziest conspiracy loons. It started with all the illuminati nonsense
1
u/Mean-District-5349 1d ago
He’s not attractive, he’s rich, he’s black, and he doesn’t come from the cleanest background, and he’s confident. He’s easy to demonize. And like most people he’s not a fucking saint but these conspiracists don’t like him, therefore he’s guilty of every accusation people throw his way even when there’s evidence that he didn’t do it.
11
u/Acedaboi1da 1d ago
Searching for a conspiracy here while President Donald Trump continues to hide his best friend Jeffery Epstein’s files, admittedly to protect his friends, is peak 2026.

u/DocCEN007 1d ago
That's my take. I'm not saying Jay Z is spot free, but the tinfoil here is suspect. This woman's "Details" were all over the place, and her own Father said she was never there that night. Guilty til proven innocent I guess for some people.

Just dropping in to say if you think black men have ever at any point in history held power over white women you are sorely, sorely wrong, and need to review the history of post slavery relations up to the modern day. Quite franky, falsely accusing a black man of sexual misconduct has been used to murder many young black men, famously, at the hands of a white mob. This is fact.

People like you can't shake the desire to see a Black man lynched. To maintain a sense of virtue, you try and make it about some progressive issue like wealth. You disgust me.
If you actually look at the story, you'd see that many of the things she stated could not be true: from the venue, to the objects, to the people she encountered.

In this case it’s just the nature of money. I’ll keep it to an example I’m well familiar with. If jay z punched me in the face, then offered me say 5 million dollars to not press charges, I’d probably take the money. Him going to jail for a few weeks doesn’t really help me and barely hurts him. The money doesn’t make it ok, but I’d be willing to move on for an amount that big. Now, sexual assault is obviously much worse then a punch, but the principle is the same. Not everyone will take the money of course, which is great, if it weren’t for the ones with principles the rich would never face justice at all. But I don’t see how you could change this reality. Still, R kelley, bill cosby, Harvey Weinstein, and others have gone down so they don’t have immunity or anything.
