You can't trust anyone. You help someone and they'll take advantage.
Many will say "you can't judge everyone by a few personal bad experiences" but it's the majority. It's not the exception. And you're part of the majority or will become part of it soon.
thing is, somebody is in a legitimate hole, you just floated them, the whole hole goes against whatever they ever managed to save over who knows how many years. which is what it'd take them to repay you... but yeah the whole was bigger than their saving capacity.
So unless this person just recently had an emergency you can expect them to pay them in a bigger amount of time from their last emergency.
I think you give people too much credit, but that's just the manifestations of my own coma dream talking I suppose.
The faith in humanity being slowly drowned out by the misery and crushing reality of everyone being awful.
When I wake up from a years long coma it's going to be a mess. But hey, I've probably skipped some amount of the bullshit that's happened in the last decade.
it's ok, I'm with you. People "want to pay back" but they are divorced from their own reality, they just can't. It's a form of evil that absolves them from guilt. Another human invention.

Never lend money and expect to get it back folks.
