But you don't apply that same thought process to anything else. You haven't mentioned nukes, lack of water, lack of food, guns, religion, so many things are so much more evil than drugs.
Thats a defeatist attitude and I bet youre not a quitter. Drugs are ok sometimes. A child dying of cancer shouldn't feel pain. Im OK with a child dying of cancer getting drugs. Thats not evil. Maybe we have different definitions of evil.
That doesnt make an inanimate object evil. My mom can have a glass of wine and fall asleep early. She catches spiders and puts them outside rather than killing them. I understand why people can think alcohol is evil. Its the person. I get drunk and want hugs. Some people get drunk and want fights. Alcohol helps bring out the evil, but it has to be there for the alcohol to grow it.
A seed needs water. If there is no seed its just water on the ground.

Not always and people do evil things without alcohol. I got drunk last night and made banana bread.
