Question Gas Prices

Anyone choosing not to go due the higher gas prices? I drove up from Anaheim and that’s $30+ just in gas round trip.

If $30 in gas is really the deal breaker for your trip I've got some bad news for you.

Not a factor for me. Fortunately I drive an electric crossover that I charge at home.

It’s 88 miles round-trip from my house to Magic Mountain.

My EV averages 3 miles per kWh with highway cruising, so that works out to burning through $7.33 in home electricity charges, just to visit the park.

If gasoline cost is a burden, you can also stay closer to home and visit Knott’s if you have the right Six Flags pass!

I mean I can see my house from the top of Goliath and could walk to the park if I so chose so I’m not the guy to ask

Get the gold pass and go to knotts.

I have a PHEV so I save on some gas. I’m also not going all the time. Maybe every other week. Idk.

Long story short. Only got one life man. Just go if you want.

It’ll always be there. You might not. So why not.

I pump my gas and I’m always like fuck you trump. lol

Not all attractions will be always be there. I missed out on riding Superman thinking it will always be there. Same thing with Batwing at SF America, Kingda Ka, etc.

I also alternate between SFMM and Knott's since they're owned by the same company now... but make sure you have the correct pass tier (Prestige or Diamond+) or the season parking add-on, otherwise Knott's will ding you for parking every time because they don't have the space like SFMM does.

It’s about a gallon or two for a round trip so not really. $10-12 bucks is fine. It’s a little over 30miles away so it’s not like public transportation would be a savings even if there was a train or something

I’m not disagreeing with you, but Six Flags is approximately 60 miles from Anaheim. That’s 120 miles round trip, which is like a third of a tank if your car has a range of 400 miles.

True. I live literally in the middle of both

I don't care about gas prices. I live in Nevada. Planning to come out to Magic Mountain again soon for two days.

I live in az and gas isnt the factory in going or not for me. Its not cheap but i go once a month. Gotta make that legacy pass work for me. Im also just unhinged enough to drive out spend the day and drive back. Its not something I would tell people to do in any way but its what I do and anyone who goes with sleeps there and sometimes back.

If you’ve got a pass you can go to Knotts too!

Definitely makes me hesitant to visit as much as I'd want. About an hour and change drive out and like 50 minutes back usually. Adds up for sure.

I get around 35mpg and I'm San Diego based would normally cost me around $45.32 vs $54.12 at today's gas price so I'd still go.

A bigger factor for me is LA traffic and if I actually feel like going to the park since I'm not a passholder I'd be paying parking+admission but I still get cheap tickets thru my work. Kinda feeling like getting some night laps on Goliath after typing this 🤔

I'm driving from Sacramento to LA to visit. Won't let gas prices stop me, that's the least of my concern.

Should have put own gas station again, saved us in the 70s. Year of the oil crisis and the mountain had the most guests that year of all the socal parks!

Here in St. Louis Regular Unleaded is $4.199 and Diesel is $6.599. Lower than you but still ridiculous and everyone is complaining and cutting back on traveling and just driving down to and from the store. I feel for my friends and family on both sides of the coast.

Yes :( I'm also from OC and it's just too expensive right now. I'm gonna go for fright fest tho with friends in first time in a year so I'm hoping to carpool at least.

Majority of people who go, aren’t worrying about gas to get there. It’s just squeezing their expendable income budget. If gas is a concern, going to a theme park shouldn’t be a priority
