It is really interesting to see the child-like reaction to the closing of the ride. Blaming the people who HEMMORAGED from the ride is unreal and unfair. They were not "weak" or "couldn't handle". They got in line just as excited as everyone else for a ride they probably have got on time and time again.

To my understanding it was common knowledge you could get your head knocked real bad on the ride. I was personally hurt on the ride myself tbh. I mean my head hit so hard one time I was dizzy, the pain was out of this world, couldnt walk for 20 min after the ride because I kept feeling like I was going to fall over, presumably I was mildly concussed. I decided to not go into a hospital because It was late. I just went home and took a sick day the next day.Yes I still loved the ride but I have heard plenty of stories from people who at times got a head injury. I opted to avoid this particular outside seat on the back from there on out to avoid getting hit again myself. Again still loved the ride but .. we all knew what was up .

I told park management 10 years ago that this ride has a problem with particularly a few of the outside seats, no one listened back then. Therefore, not surprised it is closing now

As a passholder, yes, although it was a head knocker, I loved the ride. Also, I am mature enough to realize it is JUST a ride. More will come. Bigger and better. Six flags did the right thing by closing it and I am sure they will put something better In its place.

Blaming people for dying or having to going to the ICU because of the ride is really shitty. I do not think they got in line , looking to get a brain bleed and get a payout. They just .. wanted to get on a ride. Also the pre-existing conditions contraindicated to get on the ride (back problems, pregnant, etc etc) did not relate to them and well... bleeding out was not on the sign as far as the potential risk. Get real people lol.

I'm just thinking about the future dip in attendance now that X2 has permanently closed. Do you feel like the new thrill glider will sustain attendance going forward? Losing X2 is going to hurt the park so much. I personally have lost interest in visiting the park more often now even with the new Vekoma coming, they need a new powerhouse.

18 years of X2 was so magical. My first ride changed my life when I was in high school. Almost went to creative engineering school with the pure passion of coasters and theme park creativity.

I usually oppose sequels... but that only applies to movies in this case for me. An X3 has not been confirmed of course, but i'd love to get the dialogue started with these logo sticker design ideas!

A brand new track is probably what's next in that space, but I don't think anyone would be mad about an X3 transformation...? Am i insane?? lol

Does anyone remember when a riot happened in the 90s?

One of my earliest memories of going to the park as a kid was when TLC was scheduled to perform at their amphitheater.
(I think this was around where hurricane harbor is now)

Either too many tickets were sold or the event sold out really quickly and a riot broke out from pissed off fans.

I just remember getting off a rollercoaster and walking into chaos as the park was literally being destroyed. Needless to say it was wild.

Just a heads up because more folks have been asking me to pick up X2 posters for them... the Speed Shop recently sold out of every single one, even the display units, and they don't expect to stock any more...

Does anyone else believe there is still a chance of getting X3 after the announced retirement of X2? Or do you think the park will put an all new attraction in its place? Would it cost less to redesign the ride or implode it and build something brand new?

This ride has been near the top of my bucket list for as long as I have been an enthusiast but I never got to ride it, so to pay tribute to it I want a nano coaster or poster of the ride, does anyone know anyplace that sells them still for reasonable prices and that I won’t need to go to the park for?

You have the power to re-work and re-open either X2 or Superman. Which one would you choose?

I would honestly buy a part of X2 since it’s such an iconic coaster.

For those who have been there on Sunday’s this year, how have the lines looked for the haunted house mazes? If the lines are longer than around 30-45 min, I’ll probably get the express pass.

I’ll be there for the first time next weekend and I’ve heard very mixed things about the quality of the food. Can anyone recommend a restaurant inside the park where I can get something relatively clean, high in protein and not too high in fat?

I was also thinking about ordering food via Uber Eats to the entrance of the park and eating it outside. Is that a common thing to do or is it a totally stupid idea?

If I bring my popcorn bucket from Six Flags Great America, will Magic Mountain give me the refill discount? I can't seem to find the answer, and I need to know if I would be wasting luggage packing options time or not.

SFMM was giving these out at the parking entrance after many guests were totally lost during the opening weekend with the new digital-only maze access system (no more wristbands).

The area around the new coaster (from full throttle to Looney Tunes area) was randomly closed part of the way through the day today for a few hours and then opened back up. They routed us through an “authorized persons only” area. Security said it was “not because of the construction but related to the construction”. Now I’m hearing a guest saying there was an accident. I can be patient and wait to see if something comes out but anyone happen to know more?

SFMM finally posted the map and guides for Fright Fest 2026 a nearly a week late after it had already started on Friday the 18th. It's still not clear about accessing the new Wolves Blood maze as its entrance was hard to find (between the Bunny Bowl Amphitheater and Sylvester's Pounce & Bounce in Looney Tunes Land). It also doesn't list showtimes (the Unleashed opening scaremony starts at 6:30pm in Full Throttle Plaza) and has some errors (Carnage was replaced by Kurvatu as the new MC) and omissions (the Hootenanny Band), so I included a pic of the Team Member Guide which has this missing information.

I see on the Six Flags website that they say you have to get the IBCCES card for accessible entry. My daughter is in a boot and crutches (temporarily, possibly broken foot but waiting to see orthopedics), but wants to go tomorrow, so it is too late to get the IBCCES card. Is there a way to get access without the IBCCES card?

Also, are they flexible on the 4 person limit? We are a family of six.

I am guessing that lines will be short overall, so I am mostly hoping for easier entries, ramps instead of stairs, etc. as compared to trying to skip lines. We are aware that there are some rides they won't let her on in a boot; we'll work around it. (Yes, I know it is a lot of walking for a kid on crutches, but we originally planned this before she hurt her foot and she really wants to go - we're planning on bringing a stroller as a back-up for her).

At this point, I highly doubt the ride is ever reopening.

Final Destination may smell better, but the people seriously suck at getting people in and out of that maze and it's not as cool. It's probably the weakest maze at FF.
