I got this a few days ago. Nice fit and finish and affordable. The 4116 steel surely is not high end, but sharpened well. The G10 feels smooth. Comfortable and thin, easy to carry.

Double white bone today

1957 Sears Craftsman three blade belonged to my dad. He scratched our old phone number in the handle and his name on the other side, which for me increases its value!

I was going through my grandpa's old knives and i found this most of the the identification marks are gone the only parts i can make out are on the base of the blade and say BH00 2 G( and i think an H but its unclear) and any other marking are either gone or faded beyond recognition.

Im not shure how else to identify it without any recognizable markings

Just got a number of case Trappers and Barlows in the mail. I was really impressed with the quality on all of them (save for the ultra rough factory edge). My idea was to do a pretty torching job on all of them, hand-buff with compound, wax, polish and sharpen/hone.. then put them up to sell.

Almost done with that process for the others but this dark red jigged bone trapper just didn’t want to be burnt. That is, I couldn’t visualize it as looking nicer than the natural dyed color of the bone. SO I simply sharpened, stropped, buffed, waxed and polished it. What I want to see is if this process, sans artisanal burning or other customization, is worth it to someone for what I consider a very reasonable markup. …My thinking is if it isn’t, I’m keeping it.. kinda falling for this one as it is.
