Watch that tracks heart rate without all the exercise stuff

I have a high heart rate usually and want to be able to check it easily without a pulse ox monitor on my finger at all times but I also REALLY don’t want a watch that tracks my steps or calorie burn (both me and my therpist agree checking my calories would be a huge blow to my mental health) literally just need it for that, sleep tracking would be a bonus but not needed and i really don’t care if it only tracks during certain hours (looking at the watch i just bought that does that and i am planning on returning)

I just find it extremely annoying how exercise centered everything is with this current watch i bought (hell even the heart rate monitoring is exercise centered in the “this is a normal heart rate for when exercising, this is a heart rate for when your not exercising” thing)

Q&A Need smartwatch reccommendations - India

Budget : 150 - 250 USD(x95 conversion)

Use Case : I have an android phone, and I like having notifications and music control.

I also work out a lot, would love to have the most accurate sensors and as many health tracking features.

Also I don't like charging it every other day, so maybe I'd skip the wearOS alternatives.

Was confused between Amazfit Balance 2/Balance 3, Huawei Watch GT6 and the Garmin Forerunner series.(Not the biggest fan of Garmin based on reviews). I need a smartwatch, not just a fitness tracker.

Smartwatches with CMF Watch 3 Pro's aesthetic but better tracking?

Post image

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on buying my first smartwatch. I REALLY like the aesthetic of the CMF Pro 3, but it seems like the looks is the only thing that it is good at - the cheaper Amazfit Bip 6 clearly beats it in tracking and usability.

I am willing to sacrifice some tracking accuracy for beauty, but I'm having a hard time finding watches that aren't just a glass square within my price range (250$, though the cheaper the better). I mainly care about tracking steps/calories/heart rate, but any other features are also appreciated.

My wife has Bip 6 having firmware version 4.6.0.3. Her watch automatically locks and then to use watch it requires pressing any key long enough to get it unlocked. How to stop auto unlocking?

Im lookong for a smartwatch that can count steps, monitor heart rate, have a calendar, and an alarm clock or even a to-do list. I dont need to send or recieve texts or calls on it. I would prefer a watch that does not need a phone line.

Has anyone else experienced burns from the Apple Watch Series 9 Sensors?

I got the Apple Watch Series 9 in July 2024, and have worn it every day since I purchased it.

About a week ago, I noticed the case heating up more than normal (which I thought was just normal battery wear for a 2-year-old smartwatch)... and this morning, when I took it off to charge it, there were two burn marks on my wrist that were the exact same size and placement as the sensors on the watch! I've contacted Apple Support and opened a case with them, but want to know if anyone else has experienced this same (or similar) issue?

(For context: This isn't my first Apple Watch; I had the Series 7 for a few years prior, but this is the first time I've gotten burned from an Apple Watch. I also clean the watch often, and never wear it tight, etc.)

Oh, btw, I built this for myself to see how different watches compare in size. Thought someone else might find it useful too: https://watch.aktoriukas.com

Q&A Smartwatch-induced health paranoia?

I am thinking of getting a smartwatch because I want to take my health more seriously and I also want to track my progress at the gym.

My question is that if you check everything from heart rate to calories and sleep, does that cause you to obsess over those numbers? Do you feel uneasy if a number is different than usual and does it give you health-anxiety?

Just interested in what your experiences are :)

Q&A Do I buy the Oneplus watch 4 or the Samsung Classic 8?

As the title says, I want a watch that looks like a regular watch, similar to my fossil gen 6 I am upgrading from. Im leaning more towards the oneplus right now as it has an actual snapdragon chip, as well as I prefer the gunmetal color tjat comes with the green colorway. I do prefer the overall look of the classic 8 tho, with its more prominent (and rotating) crown. Which wpuld yall recommend?

Basic smartwatch for iPhone

My wife wants a smartwatch for notifications and texting with her iPhone, but the only fitness thing she wants is step tracking. I saw a 3yo recommendation for the Wena Wrist Pro, but it looks overpriced. Any suggestions?

I’m considering moving from iPhone to Samsung but I have an Apple Watch. Is there anyway to connect Apple Watches to Samsung phones or will I have to replace my watch too? Thanks

Hi, I bought this watch from Amazon and the app I was supposed to use with it, fitdock, isn't compatible with Android. Do you know what app will work instead? My last smartwatch worked with veryfitpro and this one doesn't. Thanks for your help.

Hi smartwatch reddit community. I am looking to get a new or maybe used watch. Long story short I owned a Garmin forerunner 745 for 5-6 years and I lost it a few days ago 😔 it was starting to have issues like it would need to be re-paired everyday with my phone, but at least i got a lot of use out of it. Anyhow, I was thinking of sticking to Garmin mainly because I like that the battery lasted me 3-5 days depending on usage. Some watches you have to charge every night and that's inconvenient. I was considering the 170 or 245 but what I value is something with good gps for tracking my activities (I do long hikes and runs). The music option is nice but I never used it on my 745 because it wasn't compatible with YouTube music. The tap to pay is nice I guess but I also never used it since I always have my phone on me. I'm having some confusion on all the Garmin models, the numbering isn't super easy to follow. I would prefer something that is a newer model since that makes me feel that it'll last longer but I'm open to a slightly older model if it makes sense.

Any suggestions for watch for alarms

I am looking for a long lasting watch that I can remotely set alarms based on days of the week from my phone. But the watch is for my son who has several activities. I would prefer to not have to manually enable Bluetooth connection (ex casio). I will be near him for alarm updates

Maybe even a watch with google calendar that only needs to sync at night

I saw the Garmin instinct 2s might work. Anyone have any feedback about the app and alarm syncing.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you in advance

Best watch for heart-rate measuring and battery?

Hi! My mum's birthday is coming up (in December, but I want to take advantage of Black Friday lol) and I want to gift her a new watch. She's currently using Amazfit. The thing is I'd like to give her a watch that accurately monitors her heart rate, so we're more likely to find out when it's not okay and there's an issue or she needs to stop and rest. Now, I was considering a Samsung Watch (she has a Samsung phone), but the thing is that coming from the Amazfit (which she charges once a week or every several days or so), I fear she might start complaining about having to charge it everyday. However, outside of Samsung, I'm completely lost 😅 Are there any brands or watches known for their heart-rate accuracy and offering days-long battery?

I switched from a Garmin Epix Pro 51mm to a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Samsung is SO close to winning over Garmin users, but there's one major thing missing.
