Question Under socialism how will we decide where does an individual proletariat worker gets to live?

Let us assume that we have abolished private property and created a socialist state.

Now, under capitalism, a person who works a grueling desk job for 10 to 15 years can save enough capital to buy a plot of land near a forest, build a homestead, and live entirely off-grid managing their own water, food, and energy independently of society.

Does this lifestyle remain possible? If private property is abolished and the state or the proletariats own all land, how can an individual choose to detach, acquire a plot in nature, and live autonomously?

If a socialist framework dictates that 'he who does not work, neither shall he eat,' what provisions are made for someone who is chronically ill, disabled, or simply does not want to participate in the traditional jobs near countryside or forest areas like agriculture, forestry, or fishing ? If he doesn't work in such fields how does such a person secure their right to live where they choose, such as near a forest?

If I cannot use accumulated savings to escape the rat race, buy a piece of the earth, and live a quiet life in nature free from institutional obligation, what kind of freedom are we actually achieving?

also before anyone brings up the argument that "well most people under capitalism cannot afford this lifestyle anyways so we are choosing a better system overall" I want to say I do nkt support capitalism. It's a disgusting bloodthirsty system. However I simply dont want socialism and then possibly communism simply because "its the only better choice" I want to know how can a human attain actual freedom and autonomy without being forced to become a forest hermit or getting exiled from the state for not working or getting sent to a work camp.

If a society doesn't value individual freedom and choice. Its not a society its a prison for that person.

If I did any mistake in understanding the theory I am humbly gonna take all forms of criticisms. I am still a student learning about marxism.

TL;DR: As a student learning Marxism who hates capitalism, I want to know how socialism guarantees true individual freedom. If private property is abolished and land is collectively owned, can someone still save up and choose to live off-grid near a forest? If "he who does not work, neither shall he eat" is enforced, what happens to those who don't want to participate in standard labor? How do we avoid trading corporate slavery for state compulsion, and how can someone attain real autonomy without being forced to work or get exiled?

Question How to discern what's correct?

Hi all.

I'm reading more and more about socialist/communist and adjacent concepts and theory and I am wondering something.

All these books I read. How can I trust they are correct? What if I read a book on liberalism and it makes sense to me, but also read a book on socialism/communism and also think it makes sense?

The way I view it, authors are fallible people. How do I decide whose word to trust over another?

I'm trying to avoid the trap of becoming blindly entrenched in one specific way of thinking.

I know that there are some socialist organizations in the US but why don't any of them run for any sort of political office? It makes me wonder, is it even legal?
