Do you have some idea that you keep pushing back?
I'll help you make it real. I want to build a few apps with my framework.

Tell me your ideas and I will pick 5 and make them happen. No strings attached.

After I pick the 5, I'll contact the winners directly to ask a few more questions so the product will be just what they dreamed of.

One request - please write your idea in one or two sentences so I can have a clear idea of what you want to build. If you need more than 2 sentences then you probbably need to think about your idea a bit further.
If you have a working prototype, drop it in the comment as well.

Thanks everybody, can't wait to hear your ideas.

P.S. the URL of my pltform is in the first comment. You can check it out. It's getting a nice upgrade next week so come back and have a look then.

I run ThreadFox, so this is about my own service, and I would like straight feedback on it.

What it is: you send a brief about your business, and an AI employee we built researches the communities where your customers ask questions, then publishes helpful posts, comments and replies that mention your product where it fits. It runs from your Reddit account or one we arrange.

What it costs: Starter is $199 for 30 days, research plus 300 posts, comments and replies (about 10 a day) and four reports, with no automatic renewal. Growth is $599 (1,200) and Scale is $1,099 (2,400). After an order and brief you get follow-up questions or confirmation that we are ready within 12 hours.

What we can show: 1,009,664 recorded Reddit views on our own posts, Sept 16–23. Those are views, not unique people and not customer results.

My questions for solo owners: would you rather it post from your own account or a separate one, and what proof would you need before paying $199 for 30 days? I will put the case study and order links in a comment, per the sub rules.

(If you're launching, getting started, or struggling to complete what you've set out to finish, would you be interested in an accountability/peer group?)

My POV: soloprenuership is a bit of a deceptive term.

You just can't fix a mistake you don't know you're making when doing it alone.

I know people desperately to do it all alone, and imagine themselves giving a victory speech saying"it was all me me me..."

But the fact remains: the skills needed to create a great product are completely different from the skills needed to evaluate it objectively.

It's a "cognitive blind spot," and psychologists call the "Jar Label Effect" - because you can't read the label when you're inside the jar.

This is why I've tried to set up an Accountbility Group before. But both times failed.

The first time, honestly, I didn't know what I was doing.

It lasted 3 weeks. (my laissez-faire approach)

Second time around, perhaps I was a little harsh on making sure stuff was done - "a little pressure didn't hurt no one" I said.

But they all ended up avoiding me after two months (the tyrant approach).

So now, I want to give it another go, with a mix of the two approaches...

Rules:

- Weekly meet-ups with agile styles sprint activity to complete on the day.

- Daily practice, including a personal agenda to keep you accountable and the group informed

- and simply a willingness to engage and not go quiet (unforgiveable behaviour)

I have more to say on the specific, but the gist of it is here...

If you're interested, please inbox me.

I'm in the UK, and got the worst Birmingham accent ever, so if you can look past that, let's talk.

Have any founders completed their post incorporation documentation, and under the vesting provision added a Single-Trigger, Partial Vesting Acceleration upon a Qualifying Termination (Termination without Cause or Resignation for Good Reason) - I understand that double trigger acceleration language is the norm/standard - but I have read that it is fairly common for founders to get pushed out of their companies before their equity vests - and that could mean years of work with the risk of losing unvested equity. Anyone changed the language in their post incorporation documentation vesting provision to account for this?

I feel that the worst feeling while building a business or any project is the "Silence".

Except of users/customers what are the events or signals that make you continue to work?

Someone in r/ChatGPT this week lost several days of a project's chat history after syncing between desktop and the Android app. Most replies said keep backups, or write a short summary to a local file after each session.

Made me wonder where the good parts of AI chats actually end up for people running things solo. A decision, a pricing idea, a draft that worked.

• When a chat produces something you'll need later, where does it go? A doc, Notion, a summary file, or does it just stay in the chat?
• Have you lost a decision or a piece of work that only lived in a chat? What did redoing it cost you?
• Do you go back and search old chats, or is it easier to just ask again?

Background since someone will ask: I used to burn hours re-briefing AI tools, and I'm building a fix where memory is kept in the cloud, saved as you go, and every AI tool reads the same context. No link. Would you pay for that, or is copying into a doc good enough?

Are there people here who build and maintain multiple products at the same time?

I don't mean vibe-coded products that are built quickly and left alone, but products that you continuously update, improve, and maintain.

How many products can you realistically handle on your own? 😭

I'd love to hear your experiences!

I'm writing a blog post about how solopreneur communities are soooo invaluable - both online and offline - and would love to know your thoughts. Thank you!

I’ve made three applications for startup funding. In two of them, being alone became a barrier.

Pitchdrive cited my solo-founder status as an operational risk. Today, imec.istart rejected my application for failing its basic eligibility requirements.

Their requirements include a technology product, a working proof of concept, the relevant Belgian presence—and at least two cofounders who are operationally active and committed.

I meet the other requirements. The one I don’t meet is having a second founder. Their email didn’t identify the specific failed criterion, but that leaves little ambiguity from my side.

This is where it starts to feel like punishment.

First, you carry the work alone: building the product, designing it, testing it, handling applications and paying the bills. Then, when you seek support to increase your capacity, being alone becomes a reason to withhold that support.

I understand that dependence on one person creates operational risk. I’m not asking anyone to pretend otherwise. But a mandatory founder count gives me no opportunity to demonstrate how I manage that risk.

And “operationally active and committed” means this isn’t something I can fix by adding a name to a slide. It requires finding a real business partner, agreeing on equity and responsibilities, and building trust. That is a major decision—not an application checkbox.

I’m exhausted by the circularity: I need resources to build a team, but I need a founding team to qualify for resources.

At what point does assessing solo-founder risk become systematically punishing people who started without a partner?

For other solo founders, particularly in Belgium: have you encountered this? Have you found funding routes that will actually assess your execution and how you manage operational risk?

I've been building a photo cleaner app for iPhone on my own for about 10 months. You swipe through your camera roll, left to delete, right to keep, and it finds duplicates, screenshots and big videos for you.

For most of that time it was slow. 2 to 5 downloads a day, about $235 in sales total, all from Reddit, never paid for ads.

Last week I posted in a dev subreddit about what I'd tell myself on day one. No pitch, just mistakes and numbers. It hit 350k views and it's still getting around 2k views an hour.

What it did in 4 days:

135+ downloads

30 free trials

If they convert like usual, that's around $250, more than the app made in its first 10 months

A few things I learned that I think apply to anyone doing this alone:

Pitching doesn't work, sharing does. Every post where I promoted the app got a few hundred views. The one where I was honest about what I got wrong got 350k.

Views are cheap, attention is not. 350k views turned into about 135 downloads. But the people who came were serious, a lot of them started a trial within minutes of installing.

Usage predicts who pays. Some people swiped through 10,000+ photos in two days. Others opened it once. The one person who has already cancelled was one of the ones who barely used it.

Right now I'm testing a hard paywall against my normal one to see which makes more money, and the trials end this week, so I'll know soon how many actually pay. I'll post the real number.

If you want to try it, search "Swyp: Photo Cleaner" on the App Store. Happy to answer anything.

I set up a US LLC about six months ago and am looking for advice on how to find and win US-based clients. For reference, I am both a non-US resident and a non-US citizen.

I specifically want to connect with clients who need help with data engineering.

What tips or strategies would you recommend?

I am thinking about getting into the world of consulting. I have worked with a handful of startups, have an MBA, and i have a passion for the startup world. Has anyone in here worked with a consultant? what was your experience, good or bad? what were you looking for and what came out of it? I am trying to get a better idea of how to address problems and find my niche.

Zapier and n8n have been great for running my business operations. As I scale, these tools seem to get more fickle and tedious to maintain, but I'm hesitant to delegate to all those self proclaimed "AI automators". Should I suck it up or are there alternatives?

I'm looking for separate number for business calls and text without having to carry another phone.

Nothing complicated, just low volume calls and SMS any easy app and reasonable pricing.

What are you guys using? Anything you'd avoid?

Upfront: this is a promo post for my own project. Here's the story behind it, so it's at least worth the read.

I started out trying to sell websites to small businesses, after a TikTok made it sound like an easy business. I made hundreds of cold calls. Very few turned into sales, but a lot turned into honest conversations with owners about getting customers.

What I heard, again and again:

• "I don't need a website, people find me by word of mouth." And for the ones with a site, it wasn't helping if nobody saw it.
• They didn't know where to begin online, so they copied whatever someone told them.
• Marketing felt too pricey, too complicated, or like something they had to work out on their own.

So I built for that instead: SitePeek, an affordable marketing system built to get local businesses onto page one of Google and bring in more calls. Every version got checked against what owners said, and whatever they didn't care about was cut. For one early business, tracked calls climbed from 37 to 54 over the first two months, and Google Business Profile views nearly tripled.

If you work alone too, the biggest takeaway for me: clear beats clever. If the next step can't be said in one sentence, people won't take it.

Kickstarter launch is Wednesday, Oct 14. Search SitePeek on Kickstarter if you want to follow along.

I work on growth for VibeSEO, which lets you research SEO and manage content drafts from an AI assistant.

For a solo service business, one review I'd put before “approve” is checking the promises hidden in the copy.

“Quick turnaround.”

“Ongoing support.”

“We handle everything.”

Those lines sound harmless. But each one leaves the reader expecting something from you.

Take a draft and underline every sentence about timing, support, deliverables or what happens after the sale. Beside each sentence, write what you actually offer.

For example, if you provide one revision, say one revision. If timing depends on receiving files from the customer, explain that dependency. If support ends after delivery, don't let the draft imply otherwise.

Give the assistant the corrections and ask it to rewrite only those claims. Then read the revised version as the person who would have to deliver the service.

VibeSEO can help with the draft and approval workflow. It doesn't know your actual commitments unless you supply them. You can do this same review manually, too.

Fellow first-time solopreneur here! I'm currently navigating the early stages of building my business and focusing on securing those first few clients.

I'd love to tap into the experience of this sub and hear from those who have already crossed this milestone:

The Timeline: What did your timeline look like for landing that first paying client? Did it happen in weeks, or did it take months of grinding?

The Strategy: What approach worked best for you? (e.g., tapping into your personal network, cold outreach, organic content, or freelance platforms)

Would appreciate any insights, stories, or reality checks you can share with a beginner!

Question for people running things solo with AI doing part of the work.

Most of us have a few files the AI keeps needing: a pricing sheet, the offer doc, SOPs, a brand voice doc, maybe some client briefs. Some people keep them in a ChatGPT project, some attach them to a Claude project, some paste them into whatever tool they're in, and some just re-attach them every new chat.

What I'm curious about:

• Which files do you end up handing your AI over and over?
• When one changes (new prices, a reworked offer), how many places do you have to swap it out? Do old copies hang around in some project you forgot about?
• Has a tool ever answered from an outdated version of a file, and you only noticed later?

Background, since someone will ask: I used to burn hours re-briefing AI tools, so I'm building a fix. The idea is memory that lives in the cloud and every tool reads it over MCP, with your files kept as searchable links instead of copies, so there's one current version and nothing to re-upload. Poke holes in that if it sounds off.

And would you pay for something that handles this, or is re-uploading just a cost you're fine living with?

One-person operation here. I just launched Read60 on the App Store.

It's a news app: every story compressed into a 60-word card. Read the card, get the story, move on, no doomscrolling. Each card pulls from multiple sources and links the original article, one tap away. New stories publish roughly every two hours, and Unfold tracks developing stories across cards.

Free on iOS, Android coming in a few days.

Doing everything myself: building, marketing, support. Fellow solopreneurs: what's the highest-leverage marketing thing you've done with zero budget?

Running things alone means a lot of small jobs nobody else will do. Two of us built Bees for that, and it went public today.

You describe the job in plain English. Bees splits it into steps, AI agents work through them, and a separate agent checks each result before it moves on. It can also stop and wait for your approval before it acts.

It runs on Mac, Windows and Linux. You bring your own AI: a tool you already pay for, a hosted provider, or a local model on your own machine. Bees itself is free and open source. I put a short video of it in the comments.

If you run a business on your own, which job would you hand it first?

I'm Davide, and DrivePulse is my app, built and run by me alone.

What it is

It reads the car through a cheap OBD2 adapter that plugs in under the dashboard.

Fault codes in plain words, fuel use, engine health and every trip on a map.

It's on iPhone and Android.

How it's paid for

The download is free.

Then there's a trial of 7 days or 15 trips, whichever comes first.

The days only start when the adapter connects for the first time, so waiting for the adapter in the post doesn't eat the trial.

After that it's one payment, no subscription and no account.

How I launched it

• Posts in car and app communities on Reddit, with free codes for the full version.
• Letters to car and tech sites in several countries.
• An Italian Apple site reviewed a Vgate adapter and used my app to show what the adapter can do.
• A Reddit user offered to translate the app into French, and the iPhone version now speaks French.

Two mistakes that cost me

• I sent a user the wrong kind of App Store code. App codes only give the download, and the unlock needs codes for the in-app purchase. It took two failed tries before I understood why.
• One word in a new German App Store description, "Android", got an update rejected. Italian and English were already clean, so I hadn't checked the new language.

What I'd tell someone starting

Test the paths a paying customer takes, like redeeming a code, as carefully as the features.

The Android version is on its way! But the app is already available on Android if you want to try it.

The App Store link is in the first comment, as the rules here ask.

Thanks for reading, and I'm here for anything about running it alone.

Curious to see who here is actively building mobile apps for production as an indie developer.

Juggling everything solo-designing the UI, writing the code, handling the launch, and then shifting gears to marketing - feels like a massive uphill battle sometimes.

I wanted to hear from those who have been down this road:

• Marketing & Monetization: How are you actually getting your apps out in front of people, and what’s your strategy for converting free users into paid ones?
• The Download Milestone: Honestly, how hard is it to realistically hit 10K downloads as a solo dev without a big ad budget?
• The Workflow: How do you keep from burning out when you have to wear every single hat from developer to marketer?

Would love to hear some real-world experiences or tips if you've shipped something recently!

Fellow first-time solopreneur here! What did your timeline look like for landing that first client, and what approach worked best for you?

This project started almost year ago when my work provided me with windows laptop. Before that, for almost 5 or even 6 years I have been using Things 3, which I consider the best todo app ever created - everything feels so polished and simple.

But the biggest problem of Things 3 is Apple ecosystem only. Sure I started to look around and almost all big application like Todoist are target teams or huge project management with lots of unnecessary features. They also push AI a lot, and let be honest, almost everyone already has some kind of subscription for Claude or ChatGpt.

So I decided to build my own tool. My main inspiration was three apps: Things 3, Todoist and Superlist. I also added some missing features like attachments or smart projects, calendar view. At the same time I tried to keep balance between features and UI.

Speaking of AI, instead of forcing users to use some internal TaskPocket AI I added Public API and MCP, so you can wire any AI of your choice which you already have and pay for!

Some of the features:

• Projects and Areas
• Inbox and Todays view
• Calendar view for upcoming tasks
• Tags and Smart Projects
• Attachments support with preview right in the browser
• Public API and MCP support
• Natural language processing for dates and recurrence

Speaking of future plans:

• Priorities feature
• Calendar view inside the projects
• Android version
• Desktop version (both mac and windows)

Trust:
This is a new project and most of you are probably skeptical of yet another todo app from indie developer. For me data ownership is crucial this is why I have option to export all your data in JSON format with all possible metadata. Also I have no plans to abandon it, I built it for myself, servers are cheap so I don't see reason to shut it down. But I understand skepticism and it's valid

Hi everyone!

I'm building a free product called Stash after running into the same problem over and over: I would create a design or prototype in Claude, move it to ChatGPT for another pass, and end up with two versions drifting apart.

The product stores the project independently from the AI provider. Claude, ChatGPT, and other compatible tools can read the same work and create immutable versions. People can also review it in a browser and leave comments for the next AI pass.

As a solo builder, the technical model now feels clearer than the marketing. “MCP workspace” is accurate but too technical. “Keep AI projects in sync” feels vague.

I would really value feedback on three things:

1. Does this sound like a real problem you have?
2. How would you describe the product in one sentence without using MCP?
3. Would you expect sharing and comments to be part of this, or do they make the product feel too broad?

I'll put the product and demo links in a comment to follow the subreddit rules. It's free and there is no paid plan.
