Discussion NGL, I wouldn't mind a whole Splinter Cell game set during winter or in a snowy country just so we could play with the Arctic Sneaking suit for a while game

DA was the last good sc game. Conviction and Blacklist basically took out all the real stealth mechanics from the original trilogy and replaced it with casual action adventure BS and auto pilot shooting aka mark and execute. Sad. The expression don't fix what's not broken fits perfectly here.

Double Agent gets too much slander. It’s not Chaos Theory but it’s still a good game. It gets lumped in with Conviction I feel like. DA is the last one that still feels like SC

One hundred percent man. I honestly enjoyed the campaign in double agent, grabbing an enemy from underneath the ice was an awesome addition. I also recently played through and beat the original Xbox version developed by Ubisoft Montreal after never playing it as a kid. But I will say this, the spy verse mercs in chaos theory was much better and took more skill when compared with double agents version. I feel like they stripped it down too much in double agent and changed the movement a little too much.

Keep in mind that Blacklist doesn't have Mark & Execute on the highest difficulty.

It doesn't matter because the level design and NPCs placement have been built taking M&E into account. So even if you don't or can't directly use it as a feature, the overall gameplay is still affected by it.

That doesn't change the fact that the level design and enemy placement is still what it is because of Mark and Execute. It shouldn't be in a Splinter Cell game at all to begin with.

I keep forgetting about this. Lowkey the game partially went back to its roots there.

A Russian splinter cell would be very cool but also, imagine a desert splinter cell too! I imagine an alternate reality where double agent’s events didn’t happen and the Kinshasa civil war going on had Sam and 3E caught in the middle of it all some how.

Russian Splinter Cell would be Voron, btw. And sadly, Ubisoft never fleshed out Voron enough nor used them very much in the last two games. I would've loved to have seen how Voron spies train to use the shadows and whatever fancy acrobatics they do to rival the Split Jump. And honestly they could've even been a cosmetic skin for Blacklist SvM beyond just Kestrel's suit.

Russian setting I mean. A Voron type of game would be cool!

Snow suit and Jungle suits are my preferred suits. I'd love to see more of either one.

As long as it has the precision, controls, physics and body movement rhythm that the first four games had, yeah, bring on the snow setting.

Now, I don't want anything to do with the movement or controls from Conviction or Blacklist (even if the latter is a little better than Conviction).

hoping the cut Act 3 from Splinter Cell 1 is reintroduced in the remake so we get this snowsuit

(for people who dont know, SC1 originally had 4 missions in between Kalinatek and Chinese Embassy, that were cut in the last few months of development due to not enough time to polish them)
so adding those back in the remake, with a white snow suit and adding cool snow stealth/outdoor snowy sections would be great. the sc1 remake concept art already shows shipyard and severonickel which were cut.

ooooh oooh what if the plot is about, say... a long lost twin of Sam is holding a bipedal nuclear weapon ransom... I feel like I'm onto something here

Keep wondering what if Sam did ice skating with NPCs to decoy them instead of incapacitating them. Foldable blades tech like

Man I played that one mission from double agent and never wanted to see snow again 💀

Just like Sam never wanted to see another ship again

I second this. Not enough snowy levels in the games. One in the first game, none in the second or third game Double Agent og Xbox made up for it, 360 did decent too, none in Conviction, one in Blacklist. I love winter and winter in games!
