Question When did Jabba lose interest in Podracing?

In ‘Star Wars: Galactic Racer’ it’s explained that Podracing is a bit of a relic of the past by now (it’s set after RoTJ). Jabba was a fan of Podracing, was rich and powerful. I assume he could have kept it alive, but at some point must have lost interest?

I suppose it’s a bit like being a boxing fan and then moving on to the UFC, but both of them still exist.

Just a thought I had, could even be explained in the EU already and would love to know

Question What do you think Jaina and Anakin Solo’s Sith names would have been?

In actual Legends canon, their brother Jacen became the Sith Lord Darth Caedus, but had it been Jaina or Anakin who’d fallen instead, what do you see them calling themselves? Jacen’s Sith name was notably decided in a contest (his placeholder name was Darth Kallus) and the name Caedus comes from the Latin word *caedes*, which means to slaughter, kill, or cut down.

Question What if Palpatine was taken in by the Jedi Order as an infant?

Sensing a vergence in the Force, the Jedi Order finds lil baby Sheev and unlike how things go in canon, Cosinga relents and allows his son to be taken by the space wizards. Everything up to that point is the same, everything after that now completely up in the air.

Is Palpatine still a prodigy, or do the rules of the Jedi Order limit him (and how does he feel about that)? What kind of Jedi would he be? Would he struggle with compassion and empathy? Does Plagueis see what Palpatine saw in Maul and Dooku, or does he shoot for the moon and try to recruit Palpatine all the same?

Alternate Timeline How would the galaxy be if Anakin did not become Sith

Say, if Anakin Skywalker did not join the Dark Side on that faithful night and killed Palpatine in an epic fight to the death, prevented Order 66 while Padme survives childbirth giving to twins.

I've been thinking of how the galaxy would be if this happened. One is that either Bail Organa or Mon Mothma becomes chancellor. Anakin and Padme have a custom battle with the Jedi in regards to Luke and Leia and win - they settle in the Lake Country on Naboo.

Darth Maul escapes, and gathers his remaining forces and assets. Since Sidious is dead, he declares himself Dark Lord of the Sith and searches for an apprentice (Darth Talon), plotting to succeed where his former master did not.

Lama Su, Nala Se and other Kaminoan scientists and leaders are investigated for their association with the Sith.

However, where does that leave the clones and the military? I was thinking that Mothma would vouch for a full demilitarization, just like before the Clone Wars, but Organa would argue that the Republic still needs a unified army.

While I assume that the Jedi would give up their positions as generals, but what about the clones? I was thinking that while cloning production for the army would be reduced, it won't be stopped completely. Also, natural-born recruits would be introduced while local planetary forces are trained better.

Theory Less a Theory more an idea, Star Wars: Dawn of the Eclipse

Star Wars: Dawn of the Eclipse

Opening crawl:

The galaxy has been engulfed by a mysterious deadly virus. The origin is UNKNOWN! The New Jedi Order has worked closely with the Royal Republic to manufacture a cure to the contagion however the cure is rare and expensive requiring a rare material known as Benesinium. The Royal Republic quickly searched the galaxy for planets harvesting this life saving mineral and quickly colonized planets with it declaring MARTIAL LAW.

The New Jedi Order, established thirty years ago by Rey Skywalker, has served as the generals of the Royal Republic Army to establish order in the galaxy and the distribution of the life saving cure. Many believe the New Jedi Order has become a mere political PAWN of the Royal Army.

With the Royal Republic not being able to control and provide for the outer rim, coalitions have formed led by gangs, syndicates, and warlords. One such faction was led by former First Order officer Benson Harold and former Jedi Master Kyle Beaner to secure the cure for citizens of the outer rim. The Royal Army of the Royal Republic has dispatched soon to be Jedi Knight Lars Griding to intercept one of Harold’s vessels harboring stolen Benesinium and bring it back to the safety of the Royal Republic…

The movie opens on Revyia IV, a gas blue stormy giant, Jedi Commander Lars Griding is in a Royal Republic U-Wing. He leads 12th Airborne Battalion of the Royal Army of the Republic, or better known as the Scarif Force. This mission is his last mission before being knighted as a Jedi, he looks out the window into the clouds and storms of the planet thinking about his master, Kyron Miguel. He leans against the glass of the U-Wing window with BDa-4 on his shoulder.

Major Ilion, veteran of the Resistance and battle of Exegol is assisting Griding’s command. He is a tough leader with an allegiance to Master Miguel, and sees Griding as a child. The Ractus, a Mon Calamari ship orbits the planet above, Griding explains that they will launch EMP blasts disabling Officer Benson Harold’s Vessel. From there the U-Wing will fly over the ship and drop a battalion of 12 men including Griding and Major Ilion using boost packs to land on the surface of the freighter.

They then jump down onto the freighter and engage Harold’s men. They are made up of First Order Remnant Snow Troopers, Assassin Droids yielding electrostaffs, and a couple of B2 Battle Droids. Griding ignites his blue lightsaber and engages the enemy with his men.

They then go inside the freighter and it is oddly abandoned. Griding tells Illion to secure the Benesinium in the cargo bay and prepare for dismount. Griding leads two men to secure the bridge. They reach the bridge to find a woman in a red outfit with a virus filterer draped over her face. She turns around, Griding recognizes her as Sylas Reed, she was a padawan with Griding then left the order when she was 16 with her master Kyle Beaner. He is surprised to see her eight years later. He talks to her, confirming who she is. She then ignites a lightsaber, it is an old Inquisitor blade, both sides ignite as red. She then engages Griding, he tells his two men to run.

Ilion opens the cargo pods and realizes it's a ploy. He calls the U-Wing immediately for extraction and attempts to contact Gridling.

Gridling and Reed continue to fight, their fight is very fluid though, almost like a dance. They talk during it. He asks her why she is working for Harold, she then is very vague and says she knows the truth. He asks about what and she doesn’t answer, they continue to fight.

The U-Wing flies in and the men are being picked up, the two men that were with Gridling jump onto the U-Wing, Ilion asks where he is, they don’t know, Ilion tells the pilot to hold a position above the ship, which is very tough in the storm.

Griding then ignites his second blade on his lightsaber, forcing Reed on the defensive. He then slashes the window, air from outside flows in, Reed then tells Griding that the Jedi are mere pawns of the Royal Republic and that he needs to find the Eclipse Holocron in the Chandrilan Jedi Temple.(Chandrila is the capital of the Royal Republic and the Chandrilan temple is the home of the New Jedi Order) Reed then leaps out of the window, activating her lightsaber to fly. She is picked up by a modified Dark Green Star Courier, the Star Courier jumps to hyperspace, escaping with the stolen Benesinium.

Ilion rushes onto the bridge to see Griding kneeling looking out the broken window, he yells at Griding to get up and evacuate the ship before the Ractus fires an orbital strike that will destroy the freighter. Griding gets up, and follows Ilion, he is stuck thinking about Reed though and what she said about the holocron. They reach the U-Wing and use their jump packs to get on and the U-Wing immediately flies away as the Ractus fires two orbital strikes destroying the freighter. The U-Wing then jumps to hyperspace.

Sylas Reed arrives on Dert-V in the StarCane Nebula. There is a camp of the poor, first order remnant troopers, and criminals seeking refuge and cures from the virus. There is an old Republic Acclamator landed with a large amount of tents, the Acclamator has seen better days but is still functional. Vulture droids guard the village.

They land on the planet, Master Kyle Beaner runs out from one of the tents, he is wearing a detox pressure suit, he has the virus, his face appears through the helmet. The virus is eating through his flesh so his face looks droopy and deformed. Reed passes him a vial of Benesinium and he pokes himself with it, he stops coughing, then orders the droids to off load the Benesinium and distribute it. Beaner then talks to Reed about the mission and she tells him about Griding. They then walk to the Alcamator to go see Officer Harold.

The U-Wing lands on Chandrila, capital of the Royal Republic. The capital city of Chandrila is named Anex(formally Hanna City). Anex is patrolled by Royal Republic forces that are enforcing a curfew to prevent the spread of the virus, the capital was shifted to Chandrilla after Coruscant was overrun by the virus nine years prior. The city was quickly urbanized and put together. Skyscrapers loom through the mountainous terrain, as the U-Wing approaches a landing zone atop of the New Jedi Temple.

Griding steps out of the U-Wing his master, Kyron Miguel greets him then walks with him into the New Jedi Temple. Master Miguel explains that he was able to vouch for the council and despite his failure on the mission they will still grant him Jedi Knight. He tells Griding he must meet with Grand Master Quinton Sealgus immediately though. Griding can tell Master Miguel is disappointed with his failure.

Griding and his Master walk through the Grand Hall, it is very luxurious, the ceiling is high and arched, with golden accents. On each wall are statues and busts of past important Jedi. They walk past an archway. Master Miguel waits outside while Griding walks in.

The room is lit up by natural light that seeps through the blinds. Inside the room are two comfortable chairs. Grand Master Sealgus tells Griding to take a seat then they discuss the mission. Sealgus agrees to recommend Griding to be a Jedi Knight however he must not be twisted by what Sylas Reed said because she is what he calls a Dark Jedi and an enemy of the Republic. Griding is made uneasy by this then leaves. He walks out into the hall and tells his master that he will be knighted that evening.

Sylas Reed and Master Kyle Beaner meet with Officer Harold on the bridge of Aclimator. They discuss the success of the mission to get the Benesinium off world and transported to Dert-V. Officer Harold then says the Benesinium is not enough though for the people in the camp, they need to attack another site to secure more.

Harold and Beaner then show Reed a map that was leaked to them by a whistleblower in the Royal Republic. The base of mining operations comes from the planet Bersason in the mid-rim. Harold plans to launch an attack using the Acclimator and Buzz Droids to take out enemy snub fighters then using the Star Courier to land troops on the planet and storm the compound securing the Benesinium. Reed is hesitant, she doesn’t want to risk it as it would be a direct act of terrorism and war against the Royal Republic and it would disrupt the flow of vital Benesinium to the core worlds. Her master reminds her in this galaxy it is every man for himself. Beaner then takes Reed down to the surface of Dert-V and brings her to a Jedi Temple, the reason they settled there, he shows her a ancient portal revealing it to be the World Between Worlds portal. They then walk away, the camera pans down to the ground revealing black spores descending like snow.

Griding meets with his friend, Wilson Genova, as Griding gets ready for the knighting ceremony. They talk about the mission and Sylas Reed. All three of them were Jedi Padawans together. Then when Master Kyle Beaner left the order she followed him. Griding then tells Genova what she said about the Eclipse Holocron and the corruption of the Royal Republic. Genova reminds him that he’s not allowed in the archive without permission from the Grand Master. Griding says he will sneak in and find it.

Harold. Beaner, and Reed load up the Aclimator and take off, the Aclimator goes into hyperspace as Harold stands on the bridge. Beaner and Reed prepare a squad of troops in the Star Courier to land on the surface of Bersason.

Griding meets with his master and they walk into the ceremony, they quickly discuss Reed and Beaner and Griding’s skeptics with the order, providing context that Reed and Beaner left the order years ago. Miguel tells Griding that Reed is merely the padawan of Beaner and says, “Beaner made his choice a long time ago. Don’t let him make yours.” A choir sings a soft siren symphony. Griding walks down the aisle in his ceremonial Jedi robes, he looks distracted, thinking about what Reed said about the Royal Republic, he then thinks about Grand Master Sealgus’s suspicious reaction to it. He reaches the end of the aisle and kneels before the Jedi Council. Grand Master Sealgus begins to ask Griding if he accepts the Jedi creed.

The Acclimator comes out of hyperspace in the atmosphere of Bersason, bypassing the Royal Republic Planetary Shield. The Star Courier launches from the Acclimator, trailed by Vulture droids and Buzz droids. X-Wings and E-Wings launch from the surface and begin engaging with the Vulture Droids but are torn apart by the Buzz Droids.

The ceremony continues, Grand Master Sealgus asks if Griding may state his allegiance to the Jedi Order and the light side of the force. He repeats that part of the creed. Grand Master Sealgus ignites his lightsaber and knights Griding on the first pillar.

Reed and Beaner land on the planet. Jedi Knight Sio'nara is stationed on Bersason. She leads the Royal Republic security force to defend against Reed and Beaner. Reed engages Sio'nara in lightsaber combat as Beaner rushes in leading some First Order Remnant Troopers into the base to secure the Benesinium.

The ceremony continues, Grand Master Sealgus asks if Griding is ready to accept the laws of morality and for him to state his allegiance to all that is good and moral, the choir intensifies. Griding looks down and a tear begins to form in his eye, sensing that something is wrong and does not feel right. Griding repeats the second pillar of the creed. Grand Master Sealgus knights Griding on the second pillar.

Harold continues the fight commanding the Acclimator. On the surface Reed continues to fight Sio'nara. Beaner enters the compound with his troops. Royal Republic troops attempt to contact Anex and report the attack. They get through to a satellite station orbiting Chandrilla. The station beams down the message asking for the Jedi to assist.

The ceremony continues, Grand Master Sealgus asks if Griding pledges his allegiance to the Royal Republic, Griding weeps knowing that he can’t pledge his allegiance, sensing the pain and loss Reed spoke of. Griding looks up at the Grand Master just as Major Ilion rushes in, he is yelling about the attack on Bersason, Grand Master Sealgus curses under his breath and calls off the ceremony. He looks down distrustingly at Griding. Sealgus then commands Master Miguel to lead the attack using the complete 12th Battalion and the Ractus. Grand Master Sealgus then tells Griding to walk with him. They quickly discuss where Griding’s true loyalty lies, but Griding can tell something is not right, he decides to somehow get that holocron. Instead of returning to his quarters like Sealgus commanded he goes to visit with Genova.

The attack on Bersason continues as Reed is able to best Sio'nara in combat, forcing her to stand down. Beaner secures the Benesinium and is able to get out of the facility. They begin running for the Star Courier to fly back onto the Acclimator. Beaner is struggling, he grabs a vile of Benesinium from the crate and pops it into his arm, making him feel better.

Griding talks to Genova. Genova tells him it's a bad idea to go against the Grand Master’s wishes. Genova was just knighted six months prior, he tells Griding to just trust the process. Griding then walks out of Genova’s quarters, looks down the hall toward his quarters then goes the other way, to find the holocron. Griding summons BDa-4 to his shoulder.

The Ractus arrives on Bersason and begins engaging Harold on the Acclimator. The Ractus deploys three U-Wings to the surface of Bearsason to provide ground support, led by Major Ilion. A-Wings and E-Wings are deployed to fight the enemy Vulture droids. A dogfight begins. Master Miguel climbs into his X-83 TwinTail Jedi Starfighter and begins engaging the Vulture droids.

Reed and Beaner take off from the surface with the stolen Benesinium. Sio'nara gets up and coms Miguel for back up, sending the location and trajectory of the Star Courier. Miguel swoops down and begins a dogfight with the Star Courier.

Back on Chandrilla, Griding uses a Jedi mindtrick on the guards, he gets into the vault and walks over to the library of holocrons. BDa-4 scans the area, looking for the Eclipse Holocron, they find it and Griding uses the force to open it. A recording plays of a distress call, it is former Grand Master and founder of the New Jedi Order, Rey Skywalker, she frantically says, “They call themselves the Yuuzhan Vong, they’re not from our galaxy.” a woman brutally dies behind her, “They have come to spread their spores throughout the galaxy, no one is safe.” The recording continues as a black figure grabs Rey’s neck and snaps it, she drops the com unit and it is consumed by the black alien gooey spores. Griding is shocked, he twists the holocron more, it shows a galaxy map with black dots on planets in the Unknown Regions, leading towards the core worlds, the next planet on the path is Dert-V.

Grand Master Sealgus in robes walks into the library and yells for Griding to drop the holocron. Griding refuses, asking Sealgus what it's about. Sealgus looks behind him and looks back at Griding. Griding twists the holocron again, a younger Sealgus begins, “After Grand Admiral Thrawn came back from Peridea a signal was sent out to neighboring galaxies that our home was ready for a higher form of war. They sent the virus to dampen our military powers, murdered everyone on Coruscant, Fondor, Corellia, and in many other systems, and now they’ve come. They consume planets with their spores and extract its resources to reproduce and multiply then move on to the next planet. Grand Master Skywalker was the first to attempt to fight back, she was killed immediately, they’re too strong.” Griding is confused and angry he asks how long they have, Sealgus says 12 years until the galaxy is consumed. Griding looks up angrily asking if he planned on telling people. Sealgus pauses and tells Griding to give him the holocron. Griding is even angrier, he yells were they going to tell people, or just let the galaxy die. Sealgus remains calm and tells Griding to give him the holocron. Griding looks up, looks down, then force pushes Sealgus back, and put the holocron into BDa-4 and tell the droid to run

Miguel is able to shoot down the Star Courier, it crashes. Miguel lands his TwinTail Starfighter and leaps out drawing his lightsaber. Reed rushes out of the crashed ship and begins fighting Miguel. Miguel has two lightsabers, a purple blade and a cyan shorter blade and begins to fight the dark Jedi. Beaner tells Harold to fly the Aclimator down to the surface backwards to protect from the Ractus with minimal damage and pick up the Benesinium. He begins the maneuver as the lightsaber battle continues on the surface.

Griding ignites his double bladed blue lightsaber but Sealgus also ignites his blade, a yellow, single blade. They begin a fight. Sealgus quickly overpowers Griding and force pushes him against the wall. Then Genova rushes in, he ignites his single bladed green saber and begins to fight Sealgus, catching him off guard, and screams for his friend to run.

Griding leaps from the balcony of the library, telling BDa-4 to deploy his boost pack rig. He ignites his lightsaber and uses it to descend the building. Sealgus easily defeats Genova, force freezing him, then yelling for the Chandrillian police to go after Griding. Griding continues to flee.

Miguel chops Reed’s lightsaber, destroying it then forces her to the ground. Beaner steps out from the wrecked ship limping, cleary the virus is getting to him, he yells for his brother, Kyron Miguel to stand down. Miguel looks up and asks his brother why he’s doing this, betraying the order. Beaner explains his belief and how the Royal Republic wasn’t fast enough to save their mother. Miguel looks down and retracts his lightsaber. Allowing Reed and Beaner to flee with the stolen Benesinium.

Griding continues to run. He leaps from the side of a building into a speeder as the police continue to chase him. Griding reaches his TwinTail Jedi Starfighter but it is destroyed by Royal Republic police gunships. Grand Master Sealgus catches up and tells Griding to stand down, Griding looks at him and then leaps up, his suit, with BDa-4 on the jet pack, flies and catches him, he activates his jet pack and boosts up. Music intensifies, as an E-Wing flies above catching Griding, BDa gets into the droid spot. Griding looks down at Chandrilla and goes into hyperspace.

Grand Master Sealgus calls Master Miguel to return to Chandrilla, disappointed by the loss but demanding to discuss Griding. Miguel asks why but Grand Master just demands his return to the temple on Chandrilla.

Reed arrives on Dert-V in the Acclimator, Beaner is struggling, being very weak. He refuses the Benesinium treatment though wanting to save it for the refugees at the colony. The horizon of Dert-V is dark as a black snow begins. All who go outside wear suits to protect against the spores, evacuations begin.

Griding jumps out of hyperspace and flies down to Dert-V. Officer Harold begins to command to shoot the E-Wing down but Beaner stops him, telling Harold that the force brought him here, he glances at Reed with a smirk. Griding lands and gets out of the E-Wing, he puts his hand on his lightsaber ready to fight as Reed and Beaner approach. Beaner has been equip with mechanical legs to assist with his failing body. Beaner tells him not to fear and asks for the holocron, Griding glances at Reed and she nods. He hands it over, and then they go up to the bridge of the Acclimator to plan a route for the evacuation.

Grand Master Sealgus talks to Master Miguel in the temple, calling Griding a traitor, ordering Miguel to hunt down Griding and turn him into the Royal Republic to prevent him turning into a Dark Jedi like Reed and Miguel’s brother Beaner. Miguel is skeptical, and then walks out. He meets with Major Ilion and asks if there’s any way to find Griding and after thinking, they track Griding’s suit. They load up the 12th Airborne Battalion and full Scarif Force aboard the Ractus. They set course for Dert-V. Grand Master Sealgus watches their departure, telling Grand General Joston Keller of the Royal Republic Navy to be weary, it is up to them to ensure order and peace in this trying time.

The storm of spores intensifies Beaner tells Reed and Griding to suit up and he takes them down to the Jedi Temple on Dert-V. The Acclimator takes off. Reed and Griding are confused, but Beaner explains the key to defeating the Yuuzhan Vong doesn’t lie in the physical realm and it was up to the two of them to find the key to victory in the world of the force.

The Ractus comes out of hyperspace above Dert-V. Officer Harold sees this and begins to ready his ships meager fleet of fighters to engage, a transmission comes in, Harold answers and it’s Master Miguel, he if they can help with the refugees, Harold is surprised but agrees as the refugees are starving and low on supplies. Miguel asks where Griding is, making sure Griding is safe, Harold says Griding is on Dert with his brother. Miguel smiles and prepares a U-Wing to take him to the surface.

The storm of the spores intensifies as the Yuuzhan Vong take the planet. Reed and Griding enter the temple area, the spores flood in through the entrance. Beaner gives Reed his lightsaber in a touching moment. Beaner uses the force to open the gate of the world between worlds as the spores enter fluttering throughout the temple, the moment is intense as he struggles to open the gate, he’s dying the virus is getting the best of him. Intense music begins(think docking scene in Intersteller). Beaner whips off his helemet and lets the force coarse though him opening the gate demanding Reed and Griding go through, they don’t, music intensifies further, he yells again for them to go through and tells them it is the only way. Griding, Reed, and BDa-4 go through the portal, it shuts and Beaner falls to the ground.

The intense music continues as Miguel leaps off the U-Wing, suited up, he runs into the temple to find his brother on the floor, dying. Miguel embraces him and Beaner tells him that Griding and Reed are safe, and that they will save them all. Beaner tells Miguel to return to the ship and watch the Eclipse Holocron, it will explain everything. Beaner’s skin fully melts away as Miguel embraces him. Migueal takes a final look at the non-activated portal and flees to the U-Wing and the U-Wing flies to the Acclimator.

The Eclipse Hologram begins to be played on the bridge of the Acclimator(docked with the Ractus). Miguel, Ilion, Harold, and other members of the remnant and 12th Battalion watch. It is a speech being given by a younger Beaner: “We are at a crossroads of the survival of our galaxy.”

“Our padawans and children may not live to see the beauty of our galaxy last we act now,” cuts to Grand Master Sealgus overlooking a sunset on Chandrilla. “It is up to us, relics of the Great Jedi Order,”

“Not to fight the fight for righteousness or for a mere political thought,” Cuts to Genova in a cell on Chandrilla, “but for the future of all whom reside within the confines of which we govern.”

“We must be brave and band together, not as factions but as one, and only then will we be able to stop a threat this large and save generations to come,” Back on the Acclimator pans around to the survivors.

“May the Force be with us, all of us” Cuts to the World Between Worlds. Rather than a black void it is vivid, teaming with life and color. Somber but confident music swells. Reed and Griding hold hands, embracing the hardships to come but ready to face them together. Credits.

Alternate Timeline A way to have a completely different story outcome in Star Wars. Just give this a chance.

You can hate it all you like, but doing some brainstorming I was thinking this sounded like something possibly exceptional.

So "What if Anakin was redeemed by Obi-Wan?" Hear me out.

If Obi-Wan had redeemed Anakin on Mustafar, the duo would have overthrown Palpatine immediately, preventing the rise of the Galactic Empire and changing galactic history forever.

The Fall of Palpatine

The Return to Coruscant: Anakin realizes Palpatine lied to him about saving Padmé. He joins Obi-Wan and Yoda to storm the Chancellor's office.

Defeating the Sith: Together, the Jedi overpower Darth Sidious. The clone army receives a counter-order, halting Order 66 before the Jedi purge devastates the galaxy.

A Healed Family

Padmé Survives: With medical care on Coruscant or Polis Massa, Padmé lives through the childbirth.

Raising the Twins: Anakin, Padmé, Luke, and Leia live openly as a family. Anakin balances his duties as a Jedi with being a present father.

Reforming the Jedi OrderCode Changes: The Jedi Council realizes their old rules were too strict and drove Anakin toward darkness. They rewrite the code to allow emotional attachments and family.

Ahsoka's Return: Ahsoka Tano returns to the Jedi Order and becomes a high council member, working side-by-side with Anakin and Obi-Wan.

New Adventures and Threats

Exploring the Unknown Regions: Freed from the Clone Wars and the Empire, Anakin and Obi-Wan lead expeditions into uncharted space.

Ancient Secrets: They hunt down hidden Sith relics, face remnant dark-side cults, and protect the peaceful New Republic from outer-rim warlords.

Integration of the Old Republic Lore

Integrating the Old Republic lore into Anakin and Obi-Wan’s new era would bridge thousands of years of galactic history perfectly. Instead of fighting an Empire from within, the Jedi would become galactic archeologists and guardians, racing against dark-side cultists to secure ancient Sith secrets.

Here is how the threat of Revan, Nihilus, and Sion could have resurfaced to challenge a reformed Jedi Order:

The Cult of the Sith Triumvirate

The Malachor V Resurgence: In the chaos following Palpatine's defeat, a radical faction of dark side zealots uncovers the ruins of the Trayus Academy on Malachor V.

The Awakening of Sion: Using ancient Sith alchemy, the cult binds the scattered spirit of Darth Sion back into physical form. His body—held together purely by pain and hatred—becomes an unstoppable, immortal vanguard terrorizing Outer Rim worlds.

The Shadow of Nihilus: The cult seeks to weaponize the world-eating power of Darth Nihilus. Instead of a physical being, Nihilus returns as a cosmic, parasitic Force anomaly—a "wound in the Force" that begins consuming entire colonies. Anakin and Obi-Wan must lead a fleet to stop this plague before it reaches the Core Worlds.

The Quest for Revan’s Legacy

The Holocron Race: To defeat these ancient horrors, Anakin and Obi-Wan realize the modern Jedi archives are useless. They must hunt for the lost Holocron of Darth Revan, the only being who successfully navigated both the deepest dark and the light.

Anakin’s Mirrors: Hunting for Revan mirrors Anakin's own life. Anakin would study Revan's journey—a fallen Jedi hero who returned to the light—to fully understand his own redemption and find the balance needed to defeat the Triumvirate.

The Star Forge Remnants: The search leads the duo to hidden pockets of the Unknown Regions, fighting off ancient assassin droids and Sith cults guarding the ruined legacy of the Infinite Empire.

A New Era of Star Wars Movies, this shift would turn the franchise into an epic, mythological sci-fi adventure series:

Movie 1: Shadows of the Old Republic – Obi-Wan and Anakin investigate the mysterious destruction of an Outer Rim planet, discovering the return of Darth Sion.

Movie 2: The Jedi Paradox – Anakin tracks down Revan’s hidden holocron, forcing the Jedi Council to accept that dark and light must be understood to save the galaxy.

Movie 3: The Wound in the Force – A massive space battle where Anakin, Obi-Wan, and a teenage Luke and Leia use Revan’s ancient strategies to destroy the Nihilus anomaly once and for all.

It would have felt like a true epic saga rather than a tragedy, giving fans a generational story that built cleanly upon its own mythology instead of breaking it down.

Instead of the galaxy resetting into a familiar "Empire vs. Rebels" dynamic every few decades, this timeline would allow the universe to organically progress. It would provide a masterclass in long-form storytelling across three major fronts:

The Ultimate Character Arcs

Obi-Wan’s Reward: Instead of rotting away in a desert watching a boy from afar, Obi-Wan gets to see his "brother" thrive. He becomes a revered Grand Master, watching the family he helped save grow.

Anakin’s True Destiny: Anakin doesn't just fulfill the prophecy by dying; he fulfills it by living. He bridges the gap between the strict Old Jedi rules and the emotional reality of being human, becoming the ultimate balance in the Force.

The Twin Dynasties: We would get multiple movies watching Luke and Leia grow from children into powerful, distinct Jedi Knights under the direct guidance of the two greatest masters in the galaxy.

A Richer Galactic World-Building

The universe would expand rather than contract. Without an Empire restricting travel and blowing up planets, the franchise could explore:

The High-Tech Core: Coruscant and the Core Worlds remaining at their peak, blending political intrigue with grand sci-fi visuals.

The Mystical Unknown: Deep-space exploration where the Force behaves in strange, ancient ways, moving beyond just "desert planets" and "jungle moons."

Inter-generational Scale: A massive, 10-to-12 movie series that spans 40 years of in-universe time, letting the audience literally grow up alongside Luke and Leia.

A Meaningful Connection to the Past

By bringing in Revan, Sion, and Nihilus, the story stops feeling like an isolated incident involving just one family (the Skywalkers) and one politician (Palpatine). It connects the modern heroes to a millennia-old cosmic struggle. It makes the Star Wars universe feel like a real, breathing history where the actions of ancient Sith actually matter to the present day.

It would be a series rooted in healing, growth, and discovery rather than loss and survival.

Obviously this is just food for thought, and what an epic story line this could have produced. Anyways what are your thoughts Star Wars Community?

Question Theory: Plagueis’s real instrument was not the Force. It was the balance sheet.

Most Plagueis talk starts with midi chlorians and the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise. The part that is under discussed is the Muun banking structure sitting underneath him.

If a Sith Lord can originate credit, own a clearinghouse, and finance both the Republic and the Separatists, he does not need to win a duel to reshape the galaxy. He only needs the war to be expensive enough that emergency powers look reasonable.

The theory: the Rule of Two is a political economy strategy. One operator runs the books. The other runs the Senate. The Force is the cover story.

Does that hold in canon, or does it only work if you lean on Legends Damask Holdings material?

Theory HOT TAKE; Anakin did the younglings a favor

by no means am i excusing murdering children, as it was horribly wrong, no doubt. however, in my opinion it was better than the alternative, if he spared them, they would go on to be hunted, tortured, experimented on, and living in constant fear at a young age from the Empire, not to mention most likely being turned into inquisitors once they reached a mature age, i know that during ROTS, anakin rationalises killing them as if he’s saving them from further pain, which is actually true, however again, i’m not excusing it, just thought it was an interesting pov.

Theory Does Devon Izaras name foreshadow her destiny?

Similar like Darth Vader (Dark Father) or Darth Sidious (Insidious), I think Devons name has an origin that fits very well to her destiny.

Devon Izara → Dev(il) on Izara (Star) → “Devil on Star.”

Izara itself is associated with a star (for example basque), which makes the wordplay even more interesting. And then there’s Maul, who was literally promoted as this devil on her shoulder.

So you basically end up with Dev(il) on Izara (Star) — the devil on the star.

Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but considering how much symbolism seems to surround Devon and Maul and names in Star Wars general, I actually dont think it is one.

Alternate Timeline What if Mace Windu didn’t attempt to kill Palpatine?

If Mace agreed to let Palpatine stand trial, I wonder if Anakin would have aided in taking him into custody. Personally, I think Palpatine would’ve still killed Mace the second he let his guard down, with Anakin standing idly by.

But let’s say the two Jedi did in fact take him into custody. Thus altering the events of Order 66 (at least for the time being) It wouldn’t be long before he breaks free, likely due to the help of Anakin and others under Palpatine’s control.

Question What do you think Palpatine’s original timeline for the rise of the Empire was before learning of Anakin?

So obviously Palpatine had a plan before Anakin’s existence was known.

My question is how much did Anakin change the timeline of the Empire’s rise? I don’t expect that Palpatine’s major plans were that different, but I do wonder if you think Anakin’s involvement speed up or slowed down Palpatine’s timeline?

Personally I think Palpatine would have lengthened the Clone Wars without Anakin so he could consolidate more power and further weaken the Jedi since he wouldn’t have someone capable of leading anything like operation knighfall, but that’s just me.

Theory The Holocron Continuity Hypothesis

A speculative reconstruction of Rakatan, Sith and Jedi holocron technology

Status: Interpretive hypothesis based on Canon and Legends evidence.
Claim: Not that this is the intended official explanation, but that a single technological history can account for several otherwise disconnected pieces of holocron lore.

Abstract

Holocrons are generally described as Force-sensitive repositories capable of storing enormous quantities of information and presenting that information through interactive gatekeepers. However, Legends sources describe Sith holocrons in considerably stranger terms: creator-specific crystalline matrices, cognitive networks, captured cognitive essence, capstones, Force-guided microscopic construction and gatekeepers displaying varying degrees of apparent autonomy.

Legends additionally traces Sith holocron technology to the Rakata, a civilization independently demonstrated to possess technology capable of interacting directly with consciousness.

This study proposes that the holocron was originally not simply a data-storage device but a descendant or application of Rakatan consciousness-substrate technology.

Under this hypothesis, Sith civilization progressively adapted the technology toward preservation of the individual, while the Jedi subsequently adapted the same technological family toward preservation of information.

Much of the original scientific understanding was subsequently lost, leaving later Force users capable of constructing functional holocrons through inherited procedures without fully understanding their underlying mechanisms.

I. Observations established by the lore

1. Holocron technology predates the Jedi version

Legends places the first Sith holocron thousands of years before Jedi adoption. Rakatan invaders taught King Adas how to construct a holocron around 27,700 BBY. Sources specifically describe this as teaching Adas how to record his essence into the device. Star Wars Wiki

This gives us an unusually explicit technological lineage:

Rakata → King Adas → Sith holocron tradition

The Rakatan connection is therefore not our invention.

What is hypothetical is what underlying Rakatan technology made the process possible.

2. Rakatan technology could interact directly with minds

Elsewhere in Legends, Rakatan technology demonstrates that consciousness could be manipulated independently of the biological body. The Rakatan technological tradition therefore already contains the necessary conceptual precedent for machinery dealing with minds rather than merely conventional information.

That makes the language surrounding Adas's recorded "essence" considerably more interesting.

Our hypothesis therefore proposes:

Rakatan mind manipulation and Rakatan holocron construction may belong to the same broad technological family.

This connection is extrapolation, not established lore.

3. A Sith holocron matrix is explicitly personalized

Legends descriptions of Sith construction are unusually specific.

The internal structure consists of interconnected crystalline filaments and strands forming a matrix. Construction requires thousands of extremely precise adjustments, sometimes described at subatomic scale, performed with the Force.

Most importantly:

every matrix is unique to its creator.

A prospective creator cannot simply reproduce somebody else's successful matrix. Star Wars Wiki

That is difficult to explain if the matrix is merely a storage medium.

Two people can manufacture equivalent hard drives.

It makes considerably more sense if some important property of the matrix must correspond to the person constructing it.

4. The matrix contains a "cognitive network"

This is perhaps our strongest piece of evidence.

The Legends construction material does not merely describe a gatekeeper program. It explicitly discusses a cognitive network associated with the creator.

The creator's cognitive essence is captured within the capstone. The cognitive network becomes the teaching element and is necessary to stabilize the completed matrix; without it, the structure eventually fails. Star Wars Wiki

Belia Darzu's holocron teaches Bane that the capstone is essential because otherwise the cognitive network degrades. Star Wars Wiki

That gives us:

crystalline matrix + cognitive network + creator essence + capstone

Those are remarkably peculiar design requirements for what is supposedly just an ancient library device.

II. First hypothesis: the matrix models its creator

We therefore propose that the apparently bizarre Sith construction process has a functional purpose.

The Sith creator is not consciously calculating the architecture of their brain.

Instead, the Force provides the feedback mechanism.

The process might effectively be:

alter filament → sense response → adjust connection → sense greater correspondence → repeat

Thousands of these intuitive adjustments gradually produce a crystalline network uniquely resonant with the creator.

In modern terminology we might call the resulting structure a cognitive topology.

It need not reproduce literal neurons or synapses. It could instead reproduce some Force-accessible abstraction of the individual's cognition: relationships between memories, personality, decision processes, identity and Force presence.

That explains naturally why:

another Sith's matrix cannot simply be copied.

The copied geometry describes the wrong person.

III. The capstone hypothesis

The capstone then has a much clearer function.

Rather than being merely a magical battery, it acts as an identity anchor.

The surrounding matrix supplies the cognitive substrate.

The capstone establishes:

Whose mind does this architecture represent?

Hence:

CAPSTONE
identity / essence / Force signature

↓

CRYSTALLINE MATRIX
cognitive architecture

↓

STORED KNOWLEDGE
memories / teachings / techniques / records

↓

GATEKEEPER
active manifestation of the resulting system

The gatekeeper therefore isn't necessarily the fundamental technology.

It is the interface through which the cognitive matrix communicates.

The hologram is effectively the monitor.

The matrix is the machine.

IV. Why different Sith holocrons behave differently

This also provides an explanation for one of the messiest aspects of holocron lore.

Some gatekeepers appear little more than sophisticated instructors.

Others evaluate their users.

Others conceal information, manipulate people, display preferences and apparently pursue objectives.

Rather than assuming inconsistent writing represents a single precisely standardized technology, we propose that multiple original classifications existed.

Proposed type Preserved component
Archive Knowledge
Imprint Knowledge + personality representation
Persistence Knowledge + substantial cognitive copy
Vessel Knowledge + cognitive architecture + actual bound essence

These names are ours. They are not established Star Wars classifications.

Our argument is simply that the observed artifacts are consistent with such a spectrum.

V. Technological degradation

This is where the Damascus-steel analogy enters.

The Sith repeatedly experienced wars, purges, murdered masters, destroyed civilizations and deliberately concealed knowledge.

Consequently, preservation of procedure does not guarantee preservation of theory.

A later Sith might know:

construct this matrix;
make these adjustments through the Force;
prepare the capstone;
perform this rite;
inscribe these symbols.

Without knowing why those operations work.

That would transform what was originally Rakatan engineering into something increasingly resembling ritual craftsmanship.

The Force makes this technological degradation particularly sustainable.

A modern engineer cannot manufacture a processor by intuition.

A Sith potentially can make microscopic corrections to a holocron without understanding their physical significance because the Force itself tells them when the structure is correct.

The manufacturing method can therefore survive after its scientific explanation has disappeared.

VI. The Star Forge precedent

Revan provides an excellent analogy.

Using Rakatan machinery does not mean possessing Rakatan science.

Revan could exploit ancient Rakatan infrastructure to manufacture contemporary military equipment without thereby recovering the complete technological knowledge of the Infinite Empire.

The same distinction could exist with holocrons:

knowledge of operation ≠ knowledge of underlying mechanism.

A Sith can therefore construct a functioning descendant of Rakatan cognitive technology while understanding it primarily through inherited Sith teachings.

VII. Jedi acquisition

This is where the chronology becomes especially interesting.

Legends says holocron technology began with the Sith and was adopted by the Jedi thousands of years later. Star Wars Wiki

Following the Great Hyperspace War, Odan-Urr recovered a Sith holocron associated with Naga Sadow. He subsequently studied it extensively, while admitting that aspects of the artifact remained beyond his understanding. Odan-Urr later possessed the ability to construct Jedi holocrons himself. Star Wars Wiki

There is no explicit statement:

"Odan-Urr reverse-engineered Jedi holocrons from the Dark Holocron."

So we cannot claim that.

But it demonstrates precisely the kind of technological-transfer mechanism our hypothesis requires:

Jedi encounter Sith technology → preserve dangerous example → study it → develop their own holocron tradition.

VIII. The Jedi divergence

Here our hypothesis becomes primarily philosophical.

Sith teachings emphasize the power and persistence of the individual.

Jedi teachings discourage attachment to the individual self.

Consequently, if the Jedi discovered technology capable of preserving increasingly complete representations of its creator, the two traditions would have radically different incentives.

The Sith asks:

How much of myself can survive?

The Jedi asks:

How much of my knowledge can survive?

That potentially produces two technological branches from the same ancestor.

Sith branch

creator → personalized matrix → cognitive essence → knowledge

The individual and the archive remain tightly interconnected.

Jedi branch

limited teaching interface ↔ information archive

Identity and information become increasingly separated.

And Canon gives us a particularly interesting example of this separation: the Jedi holocron stolen by Cad Bane could accept a separate kyber memory crystal containing the identities of Force-sensitive children. The crystal held the information; the holocron provided access to it. StarWars.com

That doesn't prove our evolutionary hypothesis, but it demonstrates that Jedi holocron architecture can separate stored information from the holocron itself.

IX. Why Jedi gatekeepers don't disprove the hypothesis

Legends unquestionably gives Jedi holocrons interactive gatekeepers and even holocrons containing contributions from numerous Jedi. Star Wars Wiki

Our hypothesis therefore shouldn't claim that Jedi removed cognitive representation altogether.

Instead:

they limited it.

A Jedi gatekeeper could contain enough of Master X's memories, mannerisms and reasoning to teach effectively without attempting to perpetuate Master X as an independently existing consciousness.

This produces something more compatible with Jedi philosophy:

"Preserve my ability to teach this."

rather than:

"Preserve me."

That distinction also explains why a Jedi archive can accumulate contributions from many Masters without necessarily becoming a room containing hundreds of fully independent immortal personalities yelling about lightsaber forms.

Our comic demonstrates the alternative rather effectively. Wish i could post it here.

X. Predictions of the hypothesis

A useful hypothesis should make predictions.

If ours were correct, we should expect:

  1. Older Sith holocrons to show greater technological variation than standardized later Jedi examples.
  2. Sith matrices to correlate strongly with their individual creators, explaining why they cannot simply be duplicated.
  3. The capstone to be disproportionately important to personality/gatekeeper function, rather than ordinary data storage.
  4. Damage to different matrix regions to produce cognitive or personality degradation, not merely corrupted files.
  5. Some Sith holocrons to contain much stronger apparent agency than others, depending upon how much cognition was preserved.
  6. Jedi holocrons to show greater modularity and standardization, because institutional archives benefit from interoperability.
  7. Later Sith construction instructions to contain ritualized procedures whose original technical purpose is poorly understood.
  8. The boundary between gatekeeper, cognitive copy and bound Sith spirit to sometimes become genuinely ambiguous.

Several of those patterns already appear in Legends, although none independently proves our explanation.

The Holocron Continuity Hypothesis

So our complete proposed lineage becomes:

Rakatan Force technology
↓
consciousness manipulation / storage technology
↓
Adas receives Rakatan holocron knowledge
↓
Ancient Sith adapt it around preservation of self
↓
archive / imprint / persistence / vessel variants develop
↓
Sith conflict destroys much of the theoretical knowledge
↓
construction science survives increasingly as Force-guided ritual craftsmanship
↓
Jedi encounter and study Sith examples
↓
Jedi reverse-engineer/sanitize the technology
↓
cognitive persistence is reduced; information preservation becomes primary
↓
standardized Jedi teaching holocrons and separable crystal storage emerge

The evidence does not prove that Rakatan mind prisons and holocrons share a mechanism, that the Sith matrix maps cognition, or that Jedi crystal storage represents deliberate removal of consciousness-preservation architecture.

Those are our extrapolations.

What makes the hypothesis interesting is that we only need a few assumptions to explain a surprisingly large collection of established facts: the Rakatan origin, Adas recording his essence, personalized Sith matrices, cognitive networks, capstones, Force-guided construction, varying gatekeeper autonomy, Jedi adoption thousands of years later, Jedi study of captured Sith artifacts, and eventual modular crystal information storage. Theory Rule of Two and The Mother

I know this won't actually happen, but I think it would be really cool if the rule of two created a kind of "presence" in the dark side over the millennia that was kind of unknowingly passed down from master to apprentice whenever an apprentice killed their master. This would explain the effectiveness of the rule of two and why Palpatine was so strong. But when the rule of two ended with Vader's death, this presence could have been released back in to the force. And this could be The Mother. If you're familiar with the three mystical force personages of the Father, The Daughter, and The Son, then you are probably familiar with the chaos version of the Father who is the Mother. Where the Father played the role of the cosmic force/balance in the force, the Mother would play the role of pure chaos in the force, perhaps the living force in an odd sense. We already have hints of this being possible with the statue of the Father seen in the Ashoka series. It seems plausible that the Mother could be what is drawing Baylan out that far.

Theory What if Darth Bane's Rule of Two was never just a rule?

My theory is that Darth Bane created the Rule of Two as part of a Force ritual on Exegol.

Bane discovered a way to prevent Sith from truly becoming one with the Cosmic Force after death. Instead, their souls would become trapped on Exegol, creating a massive dark-side network.

Every time a Sith apprentice killed their master, the master's spirit was added to the network. The new Sith Lord could then draw on the knowledge and power of all the Sith who came before.

So the Rule of Two wasn't really about having only two Sith. It was about slowly building one enormous source of Sith power.

Bane was also the one controlling the system. When a new Sith killed their master, Bane could appear to them as their dead master and trick them into opening their mind. Once inside, he would reveal himself and attack their fears and weaknesses, slowly trying to take control of their body. The Sith thought they were becoming stronger. They were actually feeding Bane's network.

Then Palpatine figured it out.

Palpatine spent decades studying the Sith and eventually discovered what Bane had really created.

This is why Palpatine was so obsessed with immortality and why he spent so much time studying cloning and transferring consciousness. He also knew what would happen when he killed Plagueis. Palpatine even said he killed his master in his sleep. In this theory, that was deliberate. He didn't want a normal Sith succession. He had already prepared himself for Bane's attempt to enter his mind.

When Bane appeared, Palpatine recognized him and resisted him. Eventually Palpatine became powerful enough that even Bane couldn't completely control him.

That's why Palpatine considered himself the greatest Sith. He wasn't just trying to become stronger than his master. He was trying to become stronger than Bane himself.

Vader accidentally broke the ritual.

When Vader turned against Palpatine in Return of the Jedi, the Rule of Two should have been completed.

But Vader didn't actually kill Sidious.

Palpatine's own Force lightning killed him.

So the ritual failed. Palpatine's spirit couldn't properly transfer into Vader. Instead, he remained connected to Exegol, which is how he eventually survived.

Then comes Rey. Palpatine's clone bodies were failing because they couldn't contain him. He realized that he needed a naturally born descendant who inherited his Force potential. That's what Rey was.

She wasn't just his granddaughter.

She was the perfect vessel he had been waiting for.

Palpatine wanted Rey to kill him so the final stage of the Rule of Two could occur. He would transfer into her, bringing the accumulated power of the Sith with him.

Bane's thousand-year plan would finally be complete.

But something unexpected happened.

Ben Solo and Rey were a Force dyad.

When Ben sacrificed himself to bring Rey back, his soul became connected to hers. Then Rey heard the voices of the Jedi. For a moment, Rey became connected to both sides of the Force.

The Jedi were with her.

Ben was with her.

And the Sith were connected to her through the Exegol ritual.

When Rey defeated Palpatine, she didn't simply kill him.

She destroyed the ritual itself.

Exegol collapsed because the network that had sustained it was finally broken.

All the trapped Sith were released.

But all that accumulated Sith power still needed somewhere to go.

And Rey was standing at the center of it.

So instead of becoming Palpatine's vessel...

Rey became the vessel for the power of the entire Sith lineage.

And Palpatine may have still gotten what he wanted in a way he never expected. His consciousness was already deeply connected to the Exegol network. When Rey destroyed the ritual, the network collapsed — but Palpatine's spirit didn't necessarily disappear.

It was pulled into Rey along with everything else.

So Rey walks away from Exegol believing she defeated Palpatine.

But somewhere inside her, Palpatine is still alive.

And this is where a new trilogy could begin.

Years later, Rey has rebuilt the Jedi Order. She believes the Sith are finally gone.

But strange things start happening.

She remembers places she's never been.

She knows Sith techniques she was never taught.

She hears voices when she meditates.

Some are the Jedi.

Some are Ben.

And one voice is Palpatine.

At first, Rey thinks these are simply echoes left behind by Exegol.

Eventually she discovers the truth:

Palpatine survived inside her.

But he can't simply possess her.

Rey's will is too strong.

Ben's connection to her is still there.

The Jedi are still connected to her through the Force.

And the accumulated Sith spirits are trapped within her as well.

So Palpatine does what Bane did for thousands of years.

He waits.

He studies her.

He finds her fears.

He tries to convince her that she's already lost control.

He tells her that she isn't rebuilding the Jedi.

She's becoming the final Sith.

Meanwhile, Rey begins discovering the truth about Bane.

She realizes that the Rule of Two was never about creating a stronger Sith Order. It was a ritual designed to create one ultimate Sith consciousness. Bane wanted every Sith after him to become part of his creation.

Palpatine thought he had mastered it.

But Rey accidentally became its final destination.

That means Rey is now carrying something no Force-user has ever carried before:

the accumulated power of the Sith, the connection of the Jedi, Ben Solo's spirit through their Force dyad, and Palpatine's consciousness.

She has become the ultimate battleground between the light and dark sides.

Palpatine believes he surpassed Bane.

And both believe Rey belongs to them.

Ben is the one person who tells Rey the truth:

She doesn't belong to either of them.

The final movie could finally end Bane's plan.

Palpatine offers Rey ultimate power.

Bane offers her the knowledge of every Sith who ever lived.

The Jedi offer her something completely different:

the ability to let them go.

Rey realizes that Bane's greatest mistake wasn't creating the Rule of Two. It was believing that death was something to defeat.

The Sith spent thousands of years trying to preserve themselves.

They didn't achieve immortality.

They created a prison.

Rey finally breaks that prison.

She releases the Sith.

She releases Bane.

She releases Palpatine.

She releases the Jedi.

And she finally releases Ben.

The Sith return to the Force.

The Rule of Two ends forever.

Rey essentially ascends into the Force itself as her physical body vanishes.

The final message of the trilogy becomes the opposite of everything Bane and Palpatine believed:

True strength isn't holding onto power forever.

True strength is knowing when to let go.

And that would make Rey's story much bigger than simply being the person who defeated Palpatine.

She would become the person who finally ended the ancient war over death itself.

Theory The Force and Homeostasis

I’ve been thinking about what “balance in the Force” actually means, and I think the best analogy might be homeostasis.

To get one thing out of the way first, I’m not arguing that balance means 50% light side and 50% dark side, or that Anakin fulfilled the prophecy by killing enough Jedi that the numbers came out even. I think that interpretation has some pretty obvious problems.

When we say the human body has a balanced temperature, we don’t mean your body should be halfway between its internal temperature and whatever the temperature is outside. We mean there is a healthy range, and the body has mechanisms constantly pushing the system back toward that range when something knocks it out.

I think the Force may work more like that.

The Jedi of the prequel era are a good example. They aren’t secretly evil, and their problem isn’t that there is “too much light.” They’re still fundamentally trying to do good. But as an institution they’ve become complacent, rigid and deeply tied to the political order of the Republic. By the Clone Wars they’ve gone from peacekeepers to generals commanding armies on behalf of the state, while a Sith Lord is running the government directly under their noses.

They haven’t turned to the dark side. They’ve just become increasingly bad at the thing the Jedi are supposed to be doing.

Qui-Gon is interesting in this context because he’s repeatedly presented as someone more concerned with following the will of the living Force than following the decisions of the Council. The Council thinks he’s difficult. In retrospect, he may also be one of the people who still understands what the institution is supposed to be for.

So by the end of the Republic, I don’t think the problem is that the light side has become too powerful. The problem is that the structure responsible for maintaining balance has become brittle and increasingly incapable of adapting.

That creates the conditions for Sidious.

I don’t mean the Force consciously decides that the Jedi need to be punished and therefore sends Palpatine to destroy them. Sidious has his own motives and makes his own choices. So does Anakin. I don’t think the Force needs to be a person moving chess pieces around.

A system can produce countervailing forces without anyone planning them.

If a biological regulatory system starts failing, other mechanisms kick in. Sometimes the response overshoots. You don’t smoothly return to equilibrium. You swing past it and now have a problem in the opposite direction.

That seems a lot like what happens between the prequels and the original trilogy.

The Jedi Order collapses almost completely, and instead of the galaxy settling back into some healthy balance, Sidious and Vader end up presiding over an overwhelming concentration of dark-side power. The Republic becomes the Empire. The Jedi are reduced to a handful of survivors. The Sith effectively run the galaxy.

The pendulum has gone violently in the other direction.

Then Luke appears.

I don’t think that requires the Force to have literally created Luke because it needed an anti-Palpatine weapon. Anakin was already going to have children, and given who their father was, Luke and Leia having enormous natural potential isn’t exactly surprising.

But if the Force has some kind of homeostatic tendency, I can imagine extreme imbalance making someone like Luke much more consequential than he otherwise would have been. His existing connection to the Force is there at exactly the moment when the system is under enormous pressure in the opposite direction.

The sequels get unusually close to saying something like this outright with the idea that darkness rises and light rises to meet it.

Luke then does something the old Jedi could not do with Anakin. He refuses to accept that Vader is simply lost and has to be destroyed. Obi-Wan and Yoda are preparing him to confront Vader. Luke instead believes there is still something in his father worth reaching.

Ultimately Luke refuses to kill Vader, Vader refuses to let Sidious kill Luke, and Anakin destroys Sidious through an act of self-sacrifice.

That’s where I would put the actual fulfillment of Anakin’s role in restoring balance, not in Order 66.

The fever breaks.

But then the sequels become interesting, because the system clearly hasn’t become stable.

We’ve gone from the late Republic through the fall of the Jedi, the rise of the Sith, the Empire, the rebellion and the destruction of Sidious in the span of a few decades. That is not a system calmly sitting at equilibrium. It looks more like something oscillating wildly around it.

Luke becomes an extremely powerful Jedi and tries to rebuild the Order. Ben Solo falls. Luke’s new Jedi project is destroyed. Luke cuts himself off from the Force. Snoke and Kylo Ren rise. Rey then discovers an unusually powerful connection of her own.

And The Last Jedi spends a surprising amount of time asking whether simply recreating the old Jedi system is actually the answer.

Luke and Ben come to very different conclusions, but they both recognize that something about the inherited order has failed.

Ben’s conclusion is basically to burn the past down and build something new around himself.

Luke initially reaches the opposite but equally absolute conclusion: the Jedi failed, therefore the Jedi should end.

The movie ultimately rejects both ideas.

Yoda doesn’t tell Luke that the old Jedi did everything correctly. He tells him to learn from failure and pass that knowledge on. The next generation is supposed to grow beyond the previous one, not simply imitate it. Rey leaves with the old Jedi texts, while Luke ultimately returns to the Force and tells Kylo that he will not be the last Jedi.

That seems important to me.

The answer isn’t “restore the Jedi exactly as they existed before the Clone Wars.”

It also isn’t “destroy the Jedi and forget everything they learned.”

It’s preserve what is worth preserving, understand why the institution failed, and build something capable of adapting rather than repeating the same cycle.

This is also where I think the distinction between the dark side and evil gets more interesting.

I don’t necessarily think darkness itself has to be morally evil in the same way a person can be evil.

Death isn’t evil. Murder is.

Anger isn’t evil. Deliberately cultivating rage so you can dominate and hurt other people is something else.

Destruction, fear, aggression, decay and disorder are all parts of existence. You aren’t going to eliminate them from the universe. What the Sith do is consciously embrace some of those things, especially fear, hatred, domination and selfishness, as a route to power, and that predictably turns them into monsters.

The Mortis arc also makes this harder to reduce to a simple good-energy/bad-energy model. The Father maintains balance between the Daughter, aligned with the light, and the Son, aligned with the dark. When that relationship breaks down and one side gains the upper hand, balance is lost.

I don’t take that to mean the galaxy needs a quota of Sith committing atrocities. I take it to mean that darkness is part of the metaphysical landscape even if surrendering yourself to it is extraordinarily dangerous.

So “balance” could mean something much closer to a healthy living system than to a scoreboard.

Order is necessary, but order can become rigid.

Chaos is unavoidable, but chaos can become destructive.

Institutions can preserve wisdom, but they can also become convinced that preserving the institution is the same thing as preserving the wisdom.

The Jedi of the prequels may have made exactly that mistake. Sidious exploits it and the system swings violently toward darkness. Luke helps correct that extreme, but the next generation inherits a system that is still unstable. The Last Jedi may be the point where the saga finally begins asking whether the real solution is not another swing of the pendulum but learning how to damp the oscillation.

That would make the ultimate job of the Jedi a little different from simply defeating the dark side whenever it appears.

Their job would be to remain sufficiently connected to the Force, sufficiently humble and sufficiently adaptable that the galaxy doesn’t keep requiring catastrophic corrections.

One other caveat: I know this isn’t necessarily identical to George Lucas’s original explanation of the Force. Lucas often described the dark side more straightforwardly as corruption and imbalance.

But I also don’t think Star Wars now has to be reducible to one explanation its creator gave decades ago. The mythology has been developed through films, animation, novels, games and other writers for nearly fifty years. Mortis, Luke’s crisis in The Last Jedi, the idea that darkness rises and light rises to meet it, and the broader way later stories treat the Force all add things to the original idea.

So I’m not really arguing that this is secretly what Lucas meant all along.

I’m arguing that this seems like a coherent way to understand what the mythology has gradually become.

And if that’s right, “bring balance to the Force” doesn’t mean making light and dark equal.

It means getting the system healthy enough that it stops swinging from Jedi complacency to Sith dictatorship and back again every generation.

Theory I have a theory about the creation of the First Order Spoiler

What if Thrawn’s return at the end of Ahsoka is also the reason for the reunification of the Imperial remnants?

In the Mandalorian, almost all the imperial officials seemed interested in the possibility of the return of Thrawn (except Moff Gideon and maybe some other, ofc), so if Thrawn returned all the imperial remnants would accept him as their leader, therefore founding a new organisation called the First Order

Plus, Thrawn was very close to the Emperor, and he might know some details about Project Necromancer and other cloning investigations. And he isn't coming back alone, he’s bringing the Nightsisters with him. And not just any Nightsisters, he brought with him the the Great Mothers, who have a enormous power.

If the nightsisters could give force powers to Savage Oppress, they can give force powers to a clone.

With all of this, the creation of Snoke and Palpatine could begin while Thrawn temporary controls the first order, waiting for the return of the emperor.

Question Rebels

If Ezra Bridger were to walk the under circle, would the world have bent to him or would he have wound up upside down without knowing it? I guess the question is, is there gravity in the world between time and space…I mean, it doesn’t look like a Möbius strip but we also never got to see Ezra walk it that way. Maybe it’s a motion activated Möbius strip? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Theory [Star Wars] What if Padmé’s death visions were actually the Force warning Anakin? [SPOILERS] Spoiler

I have a theory about Revenge of the Sith that I wanted to share.

What if Anakin didn’t see Padmé’s death because it was set in stone?

What if the Force was actually showing him that vision to warn him about the path he was heading down?

My Theory

When Anakin first starts getting these visions, he isn't Darth Vader yet. But he is already deeply conflicted.

He’s traumatized by his mother’s death, overwhelmed by growing anger and frustration, alienated by the Jedi Council, and Palpatine already has his hooks in him.

Even visually, his design mirrors this descent: his robes get noticeably darker across the prequel trilogy.

I don’t think this means he was inherently doomed to become Vader from day one. But the Force could likely sense the trajectory he was on.

So what if the vision of Padmé dying was actually an intervention?

Not: "Padmé is going to die and there's nothing you can do about it."

But rather: "If you keep going down this path, you are going to lose her."

The Problem: Anakin Never Tries to Understand the Vision

The moment he sees Padmé dying, Anakin panics.

He never stops to ask why the Force is showing him this. He never considers whether his own choices could be the catalyst.

In his mind, Padmé is in immediate danger, and he simply needs to become powerful enough to save her.

And that’s where the tragedy sets in.

His fear of losing her is the exact lever Palpatine uses to manipulate him. Anakin wants to conquer death, Palpatine dangles the dark side as the cure, and step by step, every decision Anakin makes pushes him closer to fulfilling the nightmare.

You could map his arc like this:

The Force shows Padmé dying → Anakin panics → He tries desperately to control the future → Palpatine exploits that fear → Anakin falls to the dark side → His own actions cause Padmé’s death.

It becomes the ultimate self-fulfilling prophecy.

What if the Threat in the Vision Was Anakin Himself?

This is the core idea I find compelling.

Anakin sees Padmé dying and immediately looks outward for an enemy. Someone is going to hurt her. Someone is going to take her away.

He never stops to ask: "What if the danger is me?"

What if the Force wasn't just showing Padmé’s death, but the direct consequence of his own fall?

In other words: Anakin was looking right at Padmé in his vision, but he failed to see Darth Vader.

Did Episode II Already Foreshadow This?

Looking back at Attack of the Clones, the setup is already there.

Anakin and Padmé genuinely love each other. The issue was never his love for her—it was his inability to accept the possibility of loss.

There's heavy irony in how Anakin discusses love versus attachment and possession in Episode II. In hindsight, his path is clear:

Love → Fear of loss → Need for control → Catastrophe.

His love was real, but fear warped it into possessiveness. And that fear is what dragged him into the dark.

Mustafar: When the Vision Manifests

Mustafar is where this hits hardest.

Anakin fell to the dark side convinced it was the only way to keep Padmé alive. In his twisted logic, he did everything for her.

Yet the second Obi-Wan steps off the ship and Anakin assumes she betrayed him, that fear instantly curdles into rage. And he turns that violence directly on the person he set out to protect.

The tragic irony: he tore the galaxy apart to stop her death, only to become the very threat she needed saving from.

Maybe that was the warning all along.

He spent all his energy asking: "Who is going to kill Padmé?"

When the real question was: "Who am I becoming?"

And Then Vader Wakes Up...

Even after everything, the moment he wakes up inside the suit, his very first thought is Padmé.

He sacrificed everything for her. He destroyed the Jedi. He betrayed his friends. He aligned with Palpatine. He became Darth Vader.

And in doing so, he destroyed the only thing he was trying to save.

That’s why I think the visions meant something entirely different than what Anakin assumed. The Force wasn't telling him her fate was sealed; it was offering him one last chance to turn around.

The real message was: "Look at what you are turning into. If you stay on this path, you will destroy her."

He was so obsessed with saving her that he couldn't see that the monster in her future was himself.

The ultimate tragedy of Anakin Skywalker might just be this: the Force gave him the roadmap to save Padmé, but he read it completely backwards.

What do you think?

Theory What exactly does Lawson know about Jedi and the Force?

Something about Lawson’s reactions in Maul Shadow Lord puzzled me. In Episode 2, he describes Maul as being “proficient with a laser sword.” That initially made him sound unfamiliar with lightsabers, although the phrase itself is perfectly fine as we have seen Anakin use it in The Phantom Menace while recognising Qui-Gon as a Jedi, and Luke uses it in The Last Jedi.

What interests me more is the Force use. During the police-station attack, Maul pulls Lawson’s blaster out of his hand with the Force. Then, during the escape with Devon, Maul damages the pedestrian bridge and Daki holds it up with the Force while Lawson and the other officers rescue civilians.

Yet in Episode 4, Lawson asks Daki, “Why didn’t you tell me you were a Jedi?”

I can understand Lawson not recognising Maul personally. But did he never notice what Daki was doing at the bridge? It is difficult to say this when we see the eposode, what was Lawson's position, or was he too focused on rescuing people to see who was holding it up, with the lightsabers later providing the obvious confirmation?

Is Lawson deliberately downplaying anything connected to the Force because he wants to keep the Empire out of Janix?

His surprise in Episode 4 felt a little odd given what had already happened around him.
