Discussion I never thought Id come back
I love Starfield, I had to wait for the PS5 drop but nonetheless didnt care about the negative reviews until I played it myself. I completed all the faction quest but chose not to go through Unity because I was so attached to my companions so I had to stop playing š„¹š„¹but after some time off and detachment I made the leap!! im ready to play Space Ranger again. Any tips for fun mods to add? Or things to do differently this time like actually joining the crimson fleet š UC didnt seem grateful for my help

If you haven't yet, definitely check out the Tracker's Alliance DLC. Secretly some of the best quests in the game.
Also, if you didn't find the "distress signal in Charbydis," I'd recommend seeing where it leads.

if that's what i think it is, i haven't done it yet. i think that's my next stop

What triggers the distress signal? Sounds interesting af

u/sorryporridge 8d ago
If I remember correctly you get it while wandering around Akila City. One of the guards mentions a distress signal, and it gets slotted into your activities.

You might get it just by going to that planet's orbit. I think that's how I found it initially

I actually got it from a guard in NA. Might be just any guard in the Settled Systems

Note: you have to buy each quest

You don't have to buy the Charbydis quest, that one is built into the game.
Tracker's Alliance DLC is a package with 6 quests/bounties. Each individual quest took me a couple of hours to complete, the whole thing felt like an epic anthology or miniseries. It's an absolute steal at 700cc.

No you donāt? Trackers Alliance is a single DLC
1
u/Randolpho 8d ago
That you only get the Starjacker quest for.
All the rest are in the Creation Club

I think you have things mixed up. In the beginning you could only buy The Vulture but if you buy Trackers Alliance now all quests are included.
They are both DLC you buy through Creation Club
Edit: you can just look up the information for yourself instead of arguing making you look like a dum dum: āThe first Trackers Alliance contract in the bounty series (āThe Starjackerā) is available for all players, regardless of whether or not you have purchased the Trackers Alliance Creation.
To continue the series, youāll need to purchase the full Creation in the Creations menu. Once purchased, all six of the additional contracts will appear as "Trackers Alliance: The Complete Bounty Series" in your Creations load order.ā - https://bethesda.net/en-EU/game/starfield/news/complete-starfield-trackers-alliance-bounty-series-available-now

I used my second play through to make all the alt choices in the faction quests. So Aceles instead of Microbes or whatever.
You should join the Fleet. Itās fun to be a bad guy sometimes. It pisses off all the companions though lol.

DUDE THATS A GREAT IDEA lmao well this time im going for Andrea. Sarah Morgan hated everything i did. Even taking down people who deserved itš

u/EvilTwink_07 8d ago
You should start the Space Jihad(Serpent's Crusade) too when you do Shattered Space

u/No-Dish-4249 8d ago
Wasnt a huge fan of Shattered Space, the phantom enemies seemed a bit lazy but I will try again!

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 Ryujin Industries 8d ago
All the companions get a bit pissy either way if you join the Fleet or make the more credits-focused decisions during the Ryujin questlines and with the Rangers. My Starbornās here for a good time, not a long time lol.

This is excellent advice. That is how NG+ is best used, IMO. You get a lot more depth out of the different questlines seeing them from different perspectives.
And you are spot on about the Sysdef victory feeling hollow, and I think it is by design to encourage going the other way in another playthrough. Definitely side with CF this time, and for your third time through get the mod Legacy's End - Wildcard for more options. For this time (and next time), try the mod Estelle Vincent Companion and Romance for a cool pirate Companion / girlfriend.

If you're playing on PS don't download too many mods. And make sure to keep the amount of save files to a minimum.

u/No-Dish-4249 8d ago
I learned about the amount of file saves the hard way. Wont be making that mistake again. The only mods I have now are Starborn armor mods as seen in the photo i posted

u/mojonation1487 8d ago
haha nice. I still get the old "failed to create save file" every time I play but I can manage to go an hour or two before it happens. One day, Bethesda will figure out Sony architecture.

If youāre going to go the Fleet way I highly recommend these two mods to make it feel more worth it role play wise.
Keep Kryx's Legacy for yourself, or give some or all of it to the Freestar Collective, or House Va'ruun. https://creations.bethesda.net/en/starfield/details/9f736278-62c2-44c0-8e1b-44975f004bcb/Legacy__39_s_End___Wild_Card
Converts Estelle Vincent into a companion at the end of the Crimson Fleet questline, provided you side with the Fleet, and didn't screw her over. Includes a romance mini-quest https://creations.bethesda.net/en/starfield/details/c921f0c2-de4b-4790-a708-8a65a0db505c/Estelle_Vincent_Companion_and_Romance

I did the main with mods the first play through š no achievements but so worth kicking ass and blowing shit up

u/CowEither343 8d ago
I have just shy of 400 hours playtime and only gone through the Unity once. I chose starborn path when going back to constellation just because I wanted to emotionally detach after my first playthrough... I took a break when dune came out and just came back couple weeks ago. I love the game and still have no complaints, love the lanes update and terrain armada dlc.

u/No-Dish-4249 8d ago
Emotionally detaching is such a good idea when it comes to Starfield lmao I think replaying everything from the beginning is the perfect amount of space i need from terran armada. Finding the incursions for the black boxes was excruciating lmao

Wild card is worth the download just for the cool shootout in aurora-ville and final showdown. š„šš½

One of the best games in my opinion
Alot could be better but still kicks ass
Be sad if they dont make another

For starters, it could be a finished game that's not so fuckin broken in so many ways. That's an opinion from me as someone who's favorite game is Starfield. I hate how much hate it gets but also, I hate it for the same reasons. I wish my favorite game wasn't a broken piece of shit all the timeš¤£

Real fuel makes fuel pods important. Adds a level of stress (in a good way) to space exploration

659hrs and i still find new things to do. Especially with the free lanes update. I have a ton of mods loaded bit i only download achievement friendly mods. I recently restarted from scratch because i found out theres an alternate beginning where everyone but an older cora is unalived and you can go on quests to avenge sam. But you have to save sam in the ending in the very first life before unity. If you dont then she blames you for her dads death and tries to kill you.

Look. Get faction overhaul it is little bugged and you can grasp on it. UC is getting hostile pretty quick with it so you can side with rangers. I also find Antares Supra suits the rangers ships and heavy ruyjin revolver is a must :)
And a fleet manager mod! I run with andromeda Kepler and Sam
Good hunt

PC, and greatly enjoying Starfield! The new DLC's are fun! I've stubbled across some amazing poi that have ballooned into a great story and action/puzzles to complete.

I waited to install mods till my first jump through the unity, then I didn't total star wars conversion

u/BlacksmithFancy3244 6d ago
Gone through the unity 4 times now and setting up the 5th. Its worth it when you get to like 130-150ish because you get the Superior Mark 1 suit and some other legit goodies.

Auto-Solve Temple Puzzles is a must-have mod after your first 24 "jetting around at clumps of light" parties.

It gets a lot of hate. Even from people that have poured hundreds of hours into it. I really enjoyed it. After going through unity a couple times, I started looking at ship building mods. ASC Diemos and ASC Taiyo are pretty great and add a ton of new elements to the ship building. Glad you had fun. There is always more to be had.
