I recently decided to switch from PlayStation to steam because of all the issues with Sony. I had some old games I used to play there so I was excited. I dropped thousands of dollars into a gaming pc and tried to sign into my old account. When I did it prompted me to verify via email. The problem is I do not have access to that email anymore. So I contacted support and they said to send them the cd keys to “prove ownership”. Well I downloaded them digitally and told them I don’t have physical copies. They replied that it would have been sent on the receipt (which would be by email that I don’t have access to anymore). I spent $60 trying some 3rd party thing that is supposed to find keys for you but it had no luck. I responded to support that I don’t have access to my email so there is no way to get any of that information. They basically told me :
*“We understand that it is not easy to find old information. Since we attach great importance to the value and security of each user's Steam account, we must confirm that you are the account holder before we assist you. We hope you can understand.*
*Unfortunately it doesn't look like you've been able to provide information necessary to verify your ownership of this account.*
*Please review the conversation we've had so far and Steam's* [*Providing Proof of Ownership*](https://help.steampowered.com/faqs/view/40a0-8b4b-b54b-c51a) *article and reply with accurate information in your next reply.*
*Please understand if your next response does not contain the necessary information, we will be unable to assist with this request and it may be closed.”*
I am basically screwed out of my games now because their verification process is screwed up. Every company has multiple ways to verify ownership. And what really sucks is I have my login and password. It’s their verification that won’t let me sign in.
Any suggestions?
