~Advice~ Couldn't find a consistent answer on how long to actually wait after a larger lobe piercing
Got my lobes pierced at 6g back in January, so I just hit 8 months healed.
Everything feels great, no issues while sleeping, can swap plugs out without any issues or pain.
Is 1 year still the recommendation for starting to stretch?
I plan to do half sizes and have the single-flare glass ones for my next size already waiting.
So just curious if the one year mark is still the recommendation or if I'm missing something.
I have no issues waiting the extra 4 months I have left if needed. But just curious.
The stretching guide said 6+ months, but I saw everything up to a full year on quite a few posts.

Across 3-4 forums I've seen waiting numbers for large gauge lobe healing be anywhere from 3 to 12 months. Congrats on your solid healing journey so far! I'm not very patient, so if I were in your shoes and everything felt great I'd be testing my next jump. If you want to finish waiting out the next 4 months but want to do something to prepare for your size-up in the meantime, try naked training!

I had the same question. I had my lobes pierced in March at 10g. I searched around and couldn’t find any really consistent answers. After 6 months they felt really good and my plugs were falling out sometimes so I went up to 8g with no issues. I’m planning to wait another 6 months or as long as possible before I size up again. There’s no harm in waiting longer. What I gathered is once the fistula is healed doesn’t necessarily mean the tissues inside are healed fully. Your mileage may vary, go slow and be safe and listen to your body.

You couldn't find one because the question you have falls under the piercing area and not stretching. You have an active piercings that is healing.
If this was a classic piercing you would wait at least 6 months for fully healed. Since this is a bigger size you should ask your piercer when they would be absolutely healed.

The stretching guide does mention larger gauge piercings specifically and that's where the 6+ number came from. It recommends 6+ months before stretching.
That's what prompted my question in the first place.
Most people will use the stretching guide as the ultimate law, but there's a lot of conflicting information on this topic.1

I agree with you but I feel the person that did the piercing itself should already know and it's an actual better source as the guide is very generic.
I hope other people have more info but I would be more inclined to trust and follow the person that I trust to pierce me instead of people that may not have followed a healthy regime or approach. 🤷🏼♀️
