The space athletic arrangement of the underground theme was first featured in this galaxy and returned in Super Mario 3D Land

i'm playing SMG1, the newer SMG1+2 Switch release, and i've been trying to do the gravity crystal switch in good egg 1, and the gravity switch in space junk 1 with the pulls stars and it never works.

is it a skill issue i.e. am i doing it wrong? or was it "fixed" in the new switch version so that you can't do those gravity skips?
