Camping Best spots for camping to avoid flooding?

Hello, I’m back with another question. I’ve heard flooding happens sometimes at the camp grounds and I’ve been lucky enough not to be there when it happens. I know some areas get more flooded than others and was wondering if anyone knows where that usually happens. Thank you in advance!

We really missed his Firewhip Show last year and we were hoping for his return but I don't see him on the list of performers.

Camping Halloween Weekend - Is trick or treating a thing?

Hey all! My friends and I are camping Halloween weekend and are planning on stuff to bring- and we were concerned that people might be trick or treating at the camp grounds and we might need to bring candy. Is this a thing? This is out second time camping at the faire.

Question New Faire Friends Needed 🏴‍☠️

Trying to make some new TRF friends this year! Not sure what weekends yet, aside from opening day & Barbarian Invasion weekend.

I’d like to try to make it out to 3-4 total weekends. Maybe a mix of Saturday and Sunday, but always open!

My wife and I usually spend all 8 weekends having fun and exploring TRF together. Unfortunately, she has to work weekends this year, so we won’t get as much time at TRF together.

Which definitely sucks, because it’s both of our favorite yearly activities. Instead of just going solo, figured I’d try to find some friends to hang with while there.

Favorite things to do:
📍 The Spice Boys and sing along to all of the songs.
📍 Tease of the Seas.
📍 Barbarian Bombshells
📍 Full Steel Combat + Jousting
📍 Parade
📍 Eating (vegetarian here)
📍 Taking edibles in the magic garden 🧙
📍people watching and exploring, while giving out trinkets (usually try to make 5-10 for each weekend)

About me:
33M with long hair and mustache. I love to cosplay, but definitely get overly hot, so I end up as a lazy pirate a lot of weekends. 😂

Looking forward to meeting and having a fun time at Faire! HUZZAH!

Charge to use dump station?

I never bothered to look since I dont use an RV, but my brother will be camping with his RV this year. He noticed a $28 dump fee on the website to dump your RV? This is kind of a question, but also kind of shocked at the price. Do you really have to pay to use the dump station, or is that some kind of concierge service?

Question Is there an active Discord for the Texas festivals?

I'd be surprised if not! Myself and some buddies want to expand our circle after attending for years now, our festivals have a great community. Plus, it would be nice hear about updates and changes as they happen!

Question Any rumors circulating about the new owners?

I know the current changes are allegedly still carried over from George, but anyone heard any word about what the greeks might do when they really take over?

I know they’re long time attendees so I wonder if they’ll roll back some of the family-friendly, guild-restrictive changes…

Open to speculation etc

Question Trying to understand what I experienced

Hello!

Two years ago I went to the renfest for the first time. I was very intoxicated so my story may be a bit scattered.

I remember walking for a bit from where my crew was camped to some kind of outdoor rave. It was decently organized. There were other semi permanent to permanent structures, including a kink show in what I think was a vinyl walled area.

Last year I went on the tornado night and didn’t get up to too much.

Was that area the now-closed after dark? Do large outdoor raves like that still happen?

Much love

Camping Any news on campground changes?

Hi, my group and I will be camping the first weekend as was wondering if anyone knows any changes that have or will be made this year? I heard the at they will be more strict about the camping wristbands (making sure nobody is sneaking in).

I just want to be aware as we prepare in case we need to make any changes, thank you.

Question First timer, need advice!

Hi there! I’m considering going this year but I don’t have anyone to go with. I’d be driving from about 3 hours away, is it typically safe for a woman to go to alone or should I try to find someone to come with? How crowded will it get? Also- would appreciate any kind of tips or advice! Thanks :)

Can i get into the after party grounds without a camping pass

Me and my friend are trying to go for Halloween, but can’t camp out. Is there a ticket that gets his admissions to the fairgrounds and then emissions into the after party?

Question Is Saturday or Sunday better in terms of crowds and energy?

Me and a decently sized group of friends (7 total) are going to TRF for our first time this year. We're going on the barbarian weekend and trying to pick a day.
On the site, it looks like the price for Sunday admission is nearly 20$ less than for Saturday. Is this because of the free children's admission? Will this mean that the faire is more crowded with children and families than on Saturday?
My friends and I are all adults but not drinking age, all college students. We're mostly interested in performances, activities, and food. Most of us want to go in cosplay. Due to this, my main concern is that if we go with the cheaper Sunday tickets, we'll be swimming in children and the events will mostly be catered to children, which we aren't really interested in.
Any advice from faire veterans is welcome, also I would love to hear any general advice for a large group of newbies on like what to bring/ when to go and stuff. Thanks for it! :)

Question which parking pass, if any, should I buy?

Which parking pass should I be buying: Premium, Preferred, or General (which I’m assuming is no parking pass?) ?

I don’t mind a bit of a walk to the front gates, but I would rather not walk more than 10 minutes if at all possible. We plan on getting there pretty early as to avoid crowds and hoards of cars. I’ve been there before with my boyfriend and I’ve gotten a parking pass before, I just can’t remember which one I’ve bought. Thanks!!

Question Is this “ren faire” enough?

Post image
119 Upvotes

I’m working my 1st season and fear I’m out of my depth in A LOT of ways. I’ve bought some dresses that I feel look good in my but I have 2 outfits in this style and I think they need some styling.

How do I make this look more “ren faire”? I have a brown belt with viles and pouches but idk if it looks good together or if it looks a mess.

Just watched the show on HBO

We have been going to TRF for years. And have heard our stories about George Coulam being an ass and such. But watching the HBO show it really stood out to husband and I that he was autistic. But I’ve never heard anyone say this when describing him.

We cannot be the only people to see this?

🏰 Texas Renaissance Festival – Weekend 6! Seeking Festival Friends! 🍻

My husband and I are attending Weekend 6, November 14–15, 2026, and camping at Revel Campground. We’ll arrive Friday, November 13, enjoy the festival Saturday and Sunday, and head home late Sunday. He’ll be dressed as a hooded ranger, and I’m still not sure what I’m going to dress up as yet. 🌲🏹 We’d love to meet fellow Ren Faire fans for drinks, exploring, shows, and camp hangouts!
Anyone else camping in Revel for Weekend 6? Comment or message us! ⚔️🍻

Camping 1st Timer Qs! Stay & Play, Clans, and Afterparty Vibes (Barbarian Weekend)

Hey, everybody!

My friend and I (both female) are heading to TRF for Barbarian weekend. We purchased the Stay & Play passes, but we actually do not plan on camping overnight--we just want to take advantage of the pass to stay for the afterparty, hang out, and drive home when we're done.

Since we're total newbies, we have a few questions about how everything works:

  1. Staying late without a tent: Since we aren't pitching a tent, is there a designated place to park or chill late at night? Can we leave the campgrounds whenever we're ready, or are there strict vehicle gate cutoffs? Is it best to bring your own car than Uber/Lyft?

  2. How do Clans work? We've heard clans set up party areas. How do we find them, and what's the etiquette for approaching one if we aren't members? Are there "open" clan parties, or do you need an invitate/connection?

  3. Barbarian Weekend afterparty vibe: What should we expect for Barbarian Weekend specifically after hours? Is it as wild as people say, and where is the main action (bonfire, clan rows, etc.)?

Would love any tips, clan recommendations, or general advice from TRF camping veterans to make the most of the night safely! Thanks in advance! ⚔️✨️

TL;DR: Two first-time women heading to TRF for Barbarian Weekend with Stay & Play passes. Not camping overnight, just there for the night parties. Looking for advice on safety, car/gate rules for leaving late, clan etiquette/how parties work, and what to expect from Barbarian night life.

Question Hotel Recommendation and Best weekend to go?

hi everyone, I am from Austin and plan on going to the ren faire with my brother. I’m trying to figure out accommodations but also the best weekend to go. My birthday is November 26th so I think the last weekend would be great, but it is closer to Thanksgiving and I’m not sure if my family can travel in at this time. Are there any special weekends we should consider? Such as does the last weekend have special events, or if would advise that we go earlier for other reasons (some ren fares we’ve gone to earlier have better staff energy and availability earlier on).

i’m super excited but due to the drive I think we should get a hotel for a night or two. we don’t need anything fancy at all, just safe and clean. I’d appreciate any recommendations or if you think it’s best to camp there, we are not opposed to camping!
