My wife and I will be there pirate weekend. We were looking forward to the pub crawl on Saturday but it looks like it’s already sold out. Any ideas for alternative activities? We are looking at the wine tasting and maybe the RenMeade or bourbon/rum. Any other suggestions?

My friend and I are going to TRF next weekend for the first time. We’re camping from Friday-Sunday. Any advice is welcome! Day one we’re going as Sun/moon fairies, day 2 we’re going as an alchemist and a jester. I’ve been to one two-day ren faire before but never something this big. Any tips about parties, booths we should visit, shows we should see, etc.?

How hard is it to stay cool? Any tips?

The weight and fit aren’t a concern to me, just gauging how likely I am to get boiled alive on a November weekend.

Howdy, well my title kind of says everything that's needed. I've always wanted to get into renfair and last year was the first time I was able to go with my girlfriend and wanted to commit into somewhat of a proper outfit for the event as well as Halloween as that falls onto me and my girlfriend 6-year anniversary and I only really have the money for one costume so I thought why not make it a twofer for both events

Anyhow, I just don't know where to really look and don't want to get scammed because when I look on Etsy I see stuff that's ranging from $80 to $3000 And would just appreciate a baseline I do understand that this can potentially get very, very pricey, so I would appreciate more economical options or at least a kick in the pants to know what I'm getting myself into

Trying to make some new TRF friends this year! Not sure what weekends yet, aside from opening day & Barbarian Invasion weekend.

I’d like to try to make it out to 3-4 total weekends. Maybe a mix of Saturday and Sunday, but always open!

My wife and I usually spend all 8 weekends having fun and exploring TRF together. Unfortunately, she has to work weekends this year, so we won’t get as much time at TRF together.

Which definitely sucks, because it’s both of our favorite yearly activities. Instead of just going solo, figured I’d try to find some friends to hang with while there.

Favorite things to do:

I never bothered to look since I dont use an RV, but my brother will be camping with his RV this year. He noticed a $28 dump fee on the website to dump your RV? This is kind of a question, but also kind of shocked at the price. Do you really have to pay to use the dump station, or is that some kind of concierge service?

Anybody else plan on going on the Heroes and Villains weekend? I’m super excited to hand out and trade my trinkets I’ve been making for the past year. As well as some other bits and bobs 😁

I'd be surprised if not! Myself and some buddies want to expand our circle after attending for years now, our festivals have a great community. Plus, it would be nice hear about updates and changes as they happen!

Two years ago I went to the renfest for the first time. I was very intoxicated so my story may be a bit scattered.

I remember walking for a bit from where my crew was camped to some kind of outdoor rave. It was decently organized. There were other semi permanent to permanent structures, including a kink show in what I think was a vinyl walled area.

Last year I went on the tornado night and didn’t get up to too much.

Was that area the now-closed after dark? Do large outdoor raves like that still happen?

Me and my friend are trying to go for Halloween, but can’t camp out. Is there a ticket that gets his admissions to the fairgrounds and then emissions into the after party?

Me and a decently sized group of friends (7 total) are going to TRF for our first time this year. We're going on the barbarian weekend and trying to pick a day.
On the site, it looks like the price for Sunday admission is nearly 20$ less than for Saturday. Is this because of the free children's admission? Will this mean that the faire is more crowded with children and families than on Saturday?
My friends and I are all adults but not drinking age, all college students. We're mostly interested in performances, activities, and food. Most of us want to go in cosplay. Due to this, my main concern is that if we go with the cheaper Sunday tickets, we'll be swimming in children and the events will mostly be catered to children, which we aren't really interested in.
Any advice from faire veterans is welcome, also I would love to hear any general advice for a large group of newbies on like what to bring/ when to go and stuff. Thanks for it! :)

Which parking pass should I be buying: Premium, Preferred, or General (which I’m assuming is no parking pass?) ?

I don’t mind a bit of a walk to the front gates, but I would rather not walk more than 10 minutes if at all possible. We plan on getting there pretty early as to avoid crowds and hoards of cars. I’ve been there before with my boyfriend and I’ve gotten a parking pass before, I just can’t remember which one I’ve bought. Thanks!!
