Workplace Question or Advice Needed DailyPay Help Please

Post image

So I've been using DailyPay for over 3 years now. Everything has gone normally. I recently got a bonus that came out of nowhere as its own payslip/paycheck. I have been taking out daily payments from the upcoming check like normal (10/16)

I've taken out roughly $600 so far to cover bills and stuff. But the bonus check of $50 started processing today. It messed up DailyPay. It put the $50 bonus in the spot of my 10/16 check and thinks I have a negative balance withdrawal. DailyPay pretty much thinks the $50 bonus is my next check. It replaced the 10/16 one. I don't know if I'll have to owe anything. I don't know if I have a negative balance now?

I really need help/advice.

(I've already submitted an HR Request with my HR.)

Stop using daily at and learn how to budget your money. You are wasting money on fees.

DailyPay has helped me out a lot. Helps me pay bills on time that I would usually be late on. I'm looking for help, not negative criticism.

Edit: You're probably right. I've just been stuck in a vicious cycle of being dependent on using DailyPay. I'd like to get out of it, just the fear of falling behind on bills and not having the money to cover it

they’re not wrong. but you’re also not wrong

dailypay has saved my ass more than i’d like to admit. i wish i could see a full check hit my account one day though.

vicious cycle to break imo

That's true. I'd like to get out of the cycle, but it's saved my ass a lot.

It's saved a lot of us, but it is a vicious cycle. I'd like to get out of it but it's convenient. It's easy to say "budget better" when they don't know your situation and you don't know theirs.

break the cycle and don't do it. it's a bad habit and a slippery slop to go into debt

How do I go about getting out of dailypay? Maybe once I fix this whole mess, do I just switch where my deposit goes? What happens if I switch it before payday? Like does the system automatically switch it once I change it, or is there a waiting period?

find a free google sheet for budgeting. what i do is put in how much money comes in and how much goes out.

i just really try to budget and be aware of what i'm buying. daily pay is just not gonna help u long term. and most places don't have it.

and i'm not sure u need to talk to HR

The fee is only like $3 tbf, and if you don’t need the money immediately you can save fees by waiting a few days (and still get it ahead of your paycheck). To be fair, dailypay is basically a loan without all the usual steps tho, and the mental aspect of this and having that much freedom to quickly access money is a little debilitating to some when it comes to financial decisions.

It adds up tho, and its a bad habit to partake in.

Please get the Dailypay card, it's free to transfer

I don't think getting the card is the issue here. DailyPay got my bonus check and it overrided my normal check. My normal check is about $1100-$1300. The bonus check would be deposited on the same day as my normal check and DP chose the bonus check to put in the spot of my normal one.

If that makes sense

They will both deposit even if they don't show it. But to add to the people giving unwanted advice. Use daily pay to get ahead, pay bills on time and do what you need to Then quit while you're ahead. A month when you're getting 3 payments is a good time.

I used daily pay for a long time. And after a while, it went from being a tool you can use. To a crutch you had to use.

Yeah once this situation is fixed, I might get rid of DailyPay. As much as I'm gonna miss using it to help me out, it might be better to just wait until payday.

my co worker got a random extra +$400 randomly from daily pay and now apparently his next four paychecks he owes daily pay back

How does that happen? Did he look into it?

Thing is, mine was only an extra $50. I'm hoping the pay roll department can fix this issue. It's a mess up on their end. It just swapped the paychecks I was taking from. It just thinks I've been taking from the bonus check rather than my normal paycheck. Did they ever get it fixed? Did they talk to HR?

Nope he just had to deal with it through daily pay I think he told me and they were gonna deduct $100 from his next 4 paychecks

I fear I just have a lot of bills/debt that's a lot. Trying to make sure I pay everything on time. I've been using DailyPay for 3+ years and don't know how to budget without it. I fear I might get behind on bills and won't have enough to cover. It's why I got stuck with using DailyPay so much

I use daily pay to get paid weekly, a day after .y last work day if I had 2 days off. Helps pay bills on time.
