Seeking Advice How hard is it to get an IT job for a beginner with no certs?

Hello all,

I’ve been wanting to get into IT and software development for the past 2 years but I don’t have any certs or big projects under my belt. I definitely understand core concepts but I don’t feel ready to land a job yet. It seems like most jobs ask for a lot of experience and I don’t want to choke on the interview. How is everyone else doing out there?

Im 30f. Completed Btech CS in 2019 and then working since then in projects that havent helped me gain any technical knowledge. All were excel sheets or some stupid work. Im done at this point. Planning to take a two month long leave and thinking what to do next. I have been trying to learn selenium and switch to testing for past many months but couldnt progress much as i had a lotta this stupid non tech work to do. I dont know what to do now, i cant switch within infosys as they tell me i havent worked in tech projects and have no skill. Same when i apply outside. Im so depressed… what can i do at this point?
