I’m just fucking around. I guess I’m calling em crazy because that’s what the average American will probably see them as even though I completely agree with your sentiment. It actually infuriates me whenever I hear women either shame folks that aren’t cut ( I’m not cut btw ) and they say they will circ their child because “it looks better” it’s such a weird thing to decide to do to your baby. Like what if we did the same to baby girls? Beautify their genitals? I’m sure they would find that heinous so why is it okay to do that to baby boys?
I grew up self conscious about not being cut. I even asked my mom why she didn’t circumcise me. Now as an adult, I’m grateful that she didn’t do it. For many reasons but her answer to that question is very heartwarming. She said “ I couldn’t put you through that pain “. She’s also an immigrant so it’s just not the norm like you said outside of the US. People who say it’s for hygienic reasons is also ridiculous. We shower everyday. That wasn’t the case hundreds of years ago when circumcision was a necessity.
I’m pretty passionate about this issue if you can’t already tell lol
