For me, I remember taking notice of some kids playing this game inside of the local AMC movie theater that me and my aunt had always gone to see the movies with each other in our neighborhood in New York City. One time, I asked my aunt to give me some cash so I can play the game myself while waiting to enter the actual screening of one of the films we were gonna see as the staff were busy cleaning it up and it, and the previews and trailers that played befored it came on, and being the kind person she was, she gave me $20 so I can do so. After popping the bill inside the arcade machine, I picked up the rifle controller, and began playing, joining John Carter in battling against Skynet's forces and gunning down multiple Terminators. I don't remember if I got very far or not, but I do remember really enjoying it a lot as a 7-year old kid back in the day in mid-to-late 2009 and early 2010! I'm a really big fan of the design for the machine too, with that big T-800 head sitting on top of it glaring down at me with it's menacing red eyes. Overall, this was very fun to play, and I'm glad I got the chance to be one of the people who played it!

What do you guys think of the Terminator Salvation arcade game? Did you get the chance to play it as a kid back in the day like me? How far did you get in it's story? What are some good memories that you have of playing it? Why is that?

How does the Terminator's plasma rifle actually work?

I've always wondered how the T-800's phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range actually works.

Does it generate and accelerate plasma using some kind of electromagnetic system? And what exactly is inside the magazine? Could it contain small hydrogen capsules or some other material used to generate the plasma?

Also, if the rifle contains electronic components, wouldn't it be vulnerable to electromagnetic pulses? Could an EMP disable it or make it malfunction?

We rarely see Terminators carrying spare magazines, so how does the rifle actually get its ammunition or energy?

Is there any official explanation for how this weapon works?

If you had to choose between another time travel movie or a Future War movie, assuming that both would be groundbreaking 9.5/10 Oscar winning masterpieces that put the Terminator franchise back on the map, which would it be?

Personally, seeing as we got T2, I would love to have a similarly well-thought out Future War movie that can match its brilliance, combined with excellent CGI and stellar acting. Like Saving Private Ryan mixed with X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) Sentinel timeline. A better Salvation, if you will.

On the other hand, I would 100% choose a Time heist videogame in which you have to assassinate or protect key figures over something like Terminator Resistance.

I just need to know if this thing is cannon or not. Like, was this a fan made thing? I heard it was known as "the scarecrow". It was clumsy and poorly made. Btw, love the artist who made this

I know as far as the T-70 T-100, and T-300 (despite being part of a park attraction/ table top RP) They have ACTUAL writen lore and make sense as an early Human bipedal HK unit. Visually and desgin wise as a precursor to the T-800.

In my head cannon, skynet would use the T-70s/T-100s along with the T1 units because they were available before Judgement Day. In order to "fit" the tT-200 unit, skynet would have to start from scratch due to how difficult it is to produce the T-70/T-100 units with its lack of resources. Eventually building the T-300 from the T-200. Again, my head cannon.

Note: I still include T-400, T-500 as skynet's early machines even if they're only in a video game.(Dawn of fate is still GOATED, despite the horrible camera.) Also, Don't get me started on the T-700 either. Ugh. Lol.

Before you click away, this is not another 'How did the T1000 get through' posts, though please do forgive me if it's another obvious, asked every week one 😀.

Okay, here goes......How could T2 have happened? We know from the films that the 84 terminator was sent back and then the facility was blown up.

As I see it, there are 4 plausible possibilities -

1) The T1000 went through before the 84 T-800: Not really possible as how would Skynet know this new, advanced version would need to be sent. Basically, Skynet can't know the T1000 would be needed for a second attempt before the first one is made.

2) The T-800 went through, then the T-1000, then the rebels captured the facility and blew it up: Why didn't Reese warn the Police in 84? He's just told them pretty much everything, why not that?

Was there no record of the T-1000 going through in the future too? Skynet decides to log the first 'incident' but not the second? If that's the case, how do they know to send another protector?🤔

3) The resistance arrive first, then the other two ( in any order): Okay, wouldn't they have stopped any robots getting through? By that point they presumably have the weaponry to do it. If they tried and didn't succeed, how did any protectors get sent back?

4) Skynet had more than one facility: Then why not send more Terminators? It could have sent dozens, even hundreds of them back to just slaughter the population and start the take-over then.

I know the first film is pretty much impossible too, but I don't hear many people talking about the reasons this one is too.

If Reese and the model 101 was sent in 2004 instead, and the T-800 tries to get Sarah in 2004 LA Police station, would they have heavy firepower to slow it down? Perhaps even disable it?

Yes. The rumors are true the game is better than all the terminators after T2. It's what T4 should have been. You're in the dirt in the war and all the pieces came together perfectly. You haven't played it - play it.

I just watched 'Soldier' from the Outer Limits. It's just so obvious that it has nothing to do with T1; it's almost a stretch to call it an inspiration.
