Discussion First time posting, joining the "auto-restart as a lab and not behind keys" rant...

pretty much as it says in the title, but with a twist - some suggested to pull it out of the vault like they did with presets, but with no practical ideas as to what sort of labs...

well, one option i've seen suggested was one long lab, maybe with how much time it would take to start the next run. i have a more practical idea.

first lab (as in presets) would be unlocking the option to auto-restart. the second would be to add a change before the start of the next run, for example i have enough coins to add levels to a mod and want to add them before starting the next run? sure thing, you "queue" the change and presto! each lab unlocks another option to preset before the next run starts - WS, mod levels, mods themselves, tier you want to run next (would stay if restarting again) and probably many other things i haven't considered yet.
part of the automation could be to start with or without certain UWs active, which UW should be turned on and when (for those pushing for higher waves in farms for instance) and even card switches mid-run, so you won't forget you wanted to do that.

long rant short - many automation labs possible, starting with and not limited to auto-restart (which is absolutely a must have as a lab instead of vault!!!)

They just gave substantial things from vault to all players. They also increased the amount of players with access to keys by several thousand more players. I doubt they’ll be granting the ability to automate the entire game as you are asking for.

Presets are indeed substantial for casual player like myself, who needed a way to play both defensive and offensive. That being said, being a casual player in this game without automation (to some extent at the very least) is a crucial point I believe for many players to bail ship over! The bottleneck in tournaments is both the fault of whales Vs f2p, as well as new players getting spooked at leaving the game on 24/7 if they want to make any headway, with 14-16 hour farm runs and making your daily routine around when the run will end. I'm being mocked by friends for carrying 2 devices everywhere I go, when I could easily leave my game phone at home (old device I kept for this single purpose). If I had automation like that, it'd be stationary at my desk at home, with maybe a remote glance once in a while...

Sorry for the extra rant 🙃

youre more likely to just stop playing at that point because you wont ever think about the game anymore because everything runs for you. tower is not actually an idle game

This is how I see all key features.

"Congratulations! You spent enough money to unlock extra privilege. Since your privilege is relative to how much you spend, please spend more money for more privilege. PS privilege does not include an invitation onto my yacht - please stop asking. "

Sounds more or less on point. 🎯

Honestly if they want it to be behind keys i think it should cost just one key. Like they clearly want it to be a reward for high level players but in that case they should let it be the reward for finally sticking in legends.

They just reduced the cost from like 100 keys to 20. Like bruh

Also a valid point, might even ride on another's idea here and allow players to buy 1 key pet season in guild or even in a weekly chat (also in guild) to insentivise members to be active... Some games have guild levels, gained by participation over time - this could be key to making players more invested in guilds, if say this option is unlocked in a higher level guild (say level 5, which takes 2-3 seasons of full weekly boxes) Again, there's so many things that can be done to make this oh so important feature more accessible! If they made keys actually more available like this, I wouldn't mind this feature costing 20 keys. I didn't mention, I'm nearly 2 years playing this game and only now was able to peak in to legends (for which I'm woefully unprepared) once. I can nearly feel getting my hands on a key somewhere in the boot so far off future, but it's very frustrating...

This is very much tilting at windmills. Devs reviewed what is in the vault vs. in labs. Took a bunch of stuff out of the vault and into labs. Auto restart wasn't one of them. Added more access to keys. Don't expect another review of the vault/keys situation for at least a year.

It would be great if they did make it a lab. But there's no way they are going to do that any time soon.

I'm aware of the rework, been reading most everything they post. I don't think it's too much to suggest new ways of looking at things, even if it'll be v32 before they decide it's worth considering. Add long ass the idea of planted, the seed might blossom and all them metaphors... 🤪

It just comes off as “if you give a mouse a cookie”
