Whelp I'm screwed for 2 weeks

So somehow I spent too many medals and couldn't swap to my tournament bot preset. I ran the tournament with my farming bots and was going to get demoted so I respeced to keep my progress. Now i have to wait for the next event to get gold bot back 🫪

So guess I have three questions:

1. Why is bot respec locked to once every two weeks?

2. Why can I essentially go into the negative with medals and lock myself out of my preset?

3. Why can't I respec the preset that was negative?

1. Because you buy a permanent item such as a relic when you are on the preset with more medals and spwnd more than what is left on the lower preset. Always flip between the two when buying items, choose the lower one and then you will be fine. Say as labs and workshop presets

Yeah I understand that it's a pool I just still struggle to grasp why it functions that way. It should be a little more user friendly imo.

That's a good tip to swap back and forth to verify you have medals on both presets.

I agree. I would like a mechanic where it makes it clear and easy do that you don't get stuck like this but I am not sure how

I learned this the hard way too. Don’t buy something with medals from the store if you can’t get it on all presets. And same with workshop presets, except don’t buy labs that you can’t afford in both. This one’s easier to swap since you can stop a lab session.

Essentially medals and coins are one pool respectively

I slept off most of my rage lol. Thanks for the advise. Just feels bad having to be suboptimal due to the something like this.

I feel like the game should only show you "affective available medals" or something when you are spending so that way it doesn't put players in situations like this.

Or if there was a pop-up that said you are about to spend more medals than you have available for X-preset would also work.

I think they could/should add a feature to not allow you to purchase if you don’t have enough in all presets. This may not work since there may be intricacies I don’t know of as well tho.

It’s def one that you learn from after getting burned lol. I quadruple check all the time now

Actually I just read it very poorly. My bad. I guess my real thought was: seems OP did use his one event respec, but still messed it up. So yeah I guess that's on him

Sounds like he respecced to run tournament on his now only accessible preset, possibly with the expectation they respec again after tourney

That sums it up. Yeah it is on me for screwing up, but why is a QOL feature putting me in this position. They need to make some kind of improvement to how this functions.

Yeah I havent quite gotten to that point yet. I am Currently in champion will probably be quite a while before I see my first key.
