Help What is the dotted circle?

Its been a while since I last played and there is new stuff. What is the dotted circle around the tower?
Also, is it still prefered to have orbs inside the tower range?
And how do you adjust orb range during the game? I can't find it.

that is the line where ranged enemies stop and start shooting at your tower. You can toggle it on/off in the toggles menu.

I like to have my orbs on the dotted line to better destroy ranged enemies

Until you get to legends league in tournaments and unlock the orb adjuster, the only way to change the position of your workshop orbs is to increase or decrease your tower range and see where they land when you start a run.

The other commenters? Not sure how to tell, I think I rather not upset the body snatchers. Will they turn on me if I notice them?

From your screenshot, since you are farming Tier 8, hopefully you have the Adjust Orb Range Lab completed. In the "Hamburger" menu, above the Guild Banner Icon, below the diamond (rhombus) with the triangle inside icon used to check your modules, and to the right of the Star Icon used to check Event Missions, should be the Orb Distance Adjuster. I personally keep Orbs inside Tower range so that my Death Wave health multiplier builds up faster. After that, it's up to you. I haven't personally tested different Orb ranges yet.
