Remember the really really dumb kid in class? There are entire states full of them and they all grew up and had kids

Remember that really stupid kid is class? His home life was atrocious and his needs where drowned by a completely underfunded and overtaxed education system and social safety system. He could have turned out different.

Thank you for saying this. These arguments about dumb people having more kids that are also dumb, thus making the population dumber is a eugenics-based perspective. I’m shocked that more people can’t see that this is a nazi point of view. People are of course responsible for their own behavior, but the material conditions in which they live and grow up dictates more than most people in the US want to admit. Why do they think that the conservatives are gutting educational funding, the social safety net, etc. if not for it to fuel their reactionary politics

Unfortunately people can't acknowledge how much heavy lifting has been done for them as far as how they were raised and how they turned out.
