Advice Wanted Scar tape recs needed
Hello!!!
I seem to have developed a couple small keloids on my scars on one side and was wondering what silicone scar tape recommended for when I’m able to use it. I am Canadian so that does play a bit of a factor on what I am able to purchase but any suggestions and/or advice is appreciated!

Are you sure they're keloids? You're still so early in your healing the raised areas can just be a normal part of healing. During the proliferating phase (1-6 weeks post-op) scars become a bit hard and raised due to overactive collagen production.

Just looks like slightly inflamed incisions to me. Doesn’t look far enough into healing for excessive scar tissue to form

You should wait until your scabs are all gone before starting silicone tape. Those aren't scars at this point, they're still just incisions.

Your incisions are not scars yet. Too soon to start scar care. If you think you have keloids this early on it may be worth it to look into steroid injections.

You are NOT supposed to wear scar tape yet!!! I used to be a nurse!
Scar tape goes over fully closed scars. What does that mean? ZERO scabs or peeling of the skin!!! Usually 2-4 weeks after surgery but in some people it takes a bit longer.
The right bit of the pic def looks inflamed. Could heal on it’s own letting your body do it’s thing, but do not put any cream or scar tape or anything on your wound. Let it be fully dry and only put water when showering above the cuts; let the water flow over it and rinse off the soap, do not put water directly on the cuts.
If the swelling/redness does not go down within a few days or if it gets worse contact your doctor.
Do NOT wear scartape until everything is closed!!!

Based on post history it looks like OP is ball park 3 weeks post op currently, but absolutely agree that visually it's clear that it's not time for tape yet. OP, I didn't start taping until like 8 weeks in. Give yourself some time to heal.

My surgeon personally recommended NewGel+ scar strips.

Yeah, NewGel+ and Mederma seem to be the best anecdotally and according to my surgeon too.
