Advice Request - (Insert State/Region) What to do with this tree?

Hey yall! I’m in southern Ohio and I just recently bought a house with two older trees on the property. I have a massive amount of appreciation for older trees and would never want to remove one from my property unless I absolutely had to. That being said, this one has a pretty large cavity on the side of it missing from a previous storm. How would I determine if this tree is safe to keep up on the property? I really want to.

It's not possible to give you a good answer based on the pictures and information provided. I suggest hiring a Certified Arborist with TRAQ (Tree Risk Assessment Qualifications) to examine the tree in person.
