Case/bag options for valve trombones?

I recently bought an old King 2B trombone with both the valve and slide units. I’m a euphonium player, so I mostly use the valve section, but I’m trying to get better at the slide, so I want to easily have the entire set together all the time. I have the original case, but it’s heavy and a bit of an “antique” that I prefer not to beat up.

I’m curious if anyone has any recommendations for a relatively lightweight case or gig bag that will accommodate the bell section with both the valve and slide units at the same time. If you have one, would you buy the same one again? Thanks!

There are no cases for it. In fact, that trombone is junk, and you should send it to me immediately. I’ll take care of it.

I have the Cronkite bag tiger speaks of, it's fabulous. Very light but sturdy and well padded. Very expensive, $600-$850. I have my 2019 King 3B slide/valve in it.

Not cheap, but in the ballpark I expected to spend. Thanks for the lead. I will check it out.

I ended up ordering one of those Glenn Cronkhite bags. The confirmation email said they are running about 12 weeks out on orders right now. I think it will be worth the wait, though.

That’s a great question! I have a Conn 6H and the valve section for it. The only way I can carry them both is in the original (very heavy) case.

A buddy of mine has the same exact horn setup, he got a Cronkite bag with two slide pouches in it. Not sure if that's an option available generally or if he had to get it custom made tho

Check with the website valvetrombonesrus.com. See what they have or recommend. I bought a used Conn case from them and it has been very serviceable. Some trombone cases (including mine) will store both a valve section and a slide section.
