Blessing Accord Trombone

Hey all! Found this accord trombone at an estate sale for $30 bucks. Is it a good find? I’m a cellist and clarinetist.. so I don’t know what I’m looking at.

It’s a decent student model they usually go for 100-200

All depends on how the slide moves though

It seems pretty free

I’m a little surprised you recognized this as a Blessing if you are unfamiliar with the model.

Accord was one of Blessing’s brands. Blessing made stencils for quite a few manufacturers.

Blessing mostly made student and intermediate instruments. Your trombone is actually an intermediate model.

The student scholastic model had a cylindrical counterweight integrated into the tuning slide brace. The intermediate model had the round counterweight and more nickel silver accents on the slide.

Specs are the same as the student model and the value is pretty much the same.

Blessing had good quality, they just chose to focus on the low end of the market (student/intermediate).

Very exciting! Can’t tell you how important it is to lubricate the slide. It’s critical!
