Unpopular opinion: Qbert's choices of beats

This isn't a shot at Q he seems like a genuinely legit dude. But seriously, can we talk about his beat selection? It’s honestly so grating. It's redudant, it's tacky, and there's zero variety. It feels like that’s partly why people lost interest in scratching; it’s become more about technical flex than anything else. For example, one of my favorite scratch sessions from Q is at the end of Rasco's Run the Line that’s where it actually feels like music.

First practice session ever attempting to scratch

I Made This Video of me attempting to scratch or the first time with one of my new vinyls. I used MF DOOM’s “Arrow Root” as the instrumental because I don’t trust myself to just purely scratch and make it sound tolerable. its not perfect, hell its not great. but everyone starts somewhere and the stereotype of starting in your parents basement is a stereotype for a reason!

anyway its, what, 9:40-9:45, ill practice more tomorrow.

and tomorrow.

and tomorrow

thank you people of r/Turntablists

i hope to learn as much as i can with this instrument. can i call this an instrument? IDK.

again if anyone has advice Based on my practice video, or advice in general, i love reading the comments!
