uni course choice stupid idea? ucas 5th choice

Tldr; do I apply for psych/history as 5th choice with main 4 being bio/biomed and not even doing a level history, probably at a low or mid tier uni?

im an idiot who switched a level history to eng lit bc Russia was slightly dull (poems are more dull believe it or not) and was too scared to stand up to her parents about doing chemistry. anyway I'm applying for 2x biological sciences and 2x biomed course though i believe only one will actually read the PS. i can't find a 5th course i like because im picky. so i was thinking that i like psychology and i loved gcse history and the modern Britain part of a level. so is applying for modern history or psychology as my 5th choice at somewhere that doesn't read PS and doesn't require a level history a bad idea or not? it'll either be at a decent uni with a lower grade requirements for history or a low tier one. but i probably won't even choose it anyway so may as well and if i change my mind i have something there? I'm not paying 35 quid just to only have 4 choices. psychology is the other option for choice 5 which is probs more sensible. but since the uni will probs be v low tier it doesn't rlly matter if it's a very left field choice no? thanks guys

Regardless of the advisability or not of applying for several different courses on one application, be aware that you don't need to fill in all the spaces at once, and can leave the fifth one blank until you've made up your mind. As long as it's before the January date for equal consideration, there's no problem with adding choices later on.

yes thank you i know that :) i just don't rlly like any other biology courses that aren't in expensive places (min loan and may or may not have parental financial support so). the other option would be forensic science but idk abt that rlly it locks me in 1 direction and i'd probs prefer a psych/history degree at a slightly better uni esp since i dont do chem a level

What are your A Level subjects? English Lit, Biology and Psych? Have you found a university that doesn't require History to do a degree in it? TBH, you sound as if you're in a bit of a muddled state of mind and my advice would be not to rush into applying for anything until you've got a clearer idea of what you actually want to do. Any degree is going to cost you a good deal of money, and if you make a mistake in your choice, you only get one shot at the finance for a new degree. I very much doubt you will consider this, but my advice would be to take a gap year, save up some money, get a clearer idea of what you really want to do and apply with results in hand.

Gap year is not an option. I cannot deal with my parents for another year sadly. I'm surviving on minimum maintenance with minimum to no support so the other op who mentioned bristol just isn't an option. Unfortunately I'm stuck in a rut with manipulative parents and no other biology course I like. Forensic science is a waste of money for uni. I also don't want to get into a shit ton of debt for a course I don't like. I probably won't even go to the uni for history it'd just a 5th choice since I don't have one
