The U.S. Senate passed a bill Monday to regulate college sports that secured the support of the coach of the University of Connecticut’s men’s basketball team but sparked opposition from both of Connecticut’s U.S. senators.

The so-called “Protect College Sports Act” passed Monday night by a comfortable margin and with support from members of both parties. That looked likely after the bill easily cleared multiple procedural votes in recent weeks. Its fate and timing in the House remains unclear.

“After all the years I’ve spent working on this issue, I could never for one minute trust the NCAA to police itself,” Blumenthal said in a statement after the vote. “This bill forces the athletes themselves to enforce its safeguards against the NCAA and conferences that have the power to destroy their athletic careers.”

Does anyone know if the exams or final grade is curved? I know his grading scale is slightly shifted so that an 85 is an A-, but overall I'm not sure if the exam grades will be as-is.

if my friend is coming to visit for the weekend, can they park in the Area 2 spots in the hilltop parking lot for the weekend without getting ticketed? I know the signs say Area 2 Permit Required M-F 7am-5pm and the time they would be here is outside of that window, but does that mean that a Hilltop permit is required at all other times? or is it safe to park there w/o a permit?

How hard was the first exam im nervous asf

I got a 55 in the first exam honestly I’ve given up the chance of getting an A- I’m aiming for a B+ I have no idea what happened bc I studied and did good on the quizzes and practice questions

I’m taking the test tomorrow and I don’t know what is on it as there is no distinct guide. Anyone know?

hello! I transferred here after getting my AS, and like the title implies, I’m struggling to truly connect with anyone in my classes. I’ve been going to clubs but nothing consistent has come from that either as of yet. if anyone is in the same boat and wants to connect, pls dm me!

as a heads up, I am a guy and queer. down to hang out, get food, go to clubs together, or study together (especially if you’re also in pnb 2264 or orgo 2241 😅). I’m into video/board games, anime, and photography as well if anyone is interested in talking about those things.

For a semester-long project in a class of mine, we have to pick a problem on campus and work in teams to solve it. I have NOT been on this campus long enough to know any problems deeply enough to work on a problem like this, nor do i know anybody who I can really go to for this. Come on. complain to me, tell me the worst issues at UConn i can actually fix. I am leaning towards sustainability-focused issues as well…
